Our school is a diverse, inclusive non-selective upper school. The students and staff at The Grange School make it a fantastic place to work. Our students are friendly and confident and we strive to ensure that they achieve the success that they deserve. Together we have created a successful community school where students learn the skills for success. As a school we believe in developing the whole child. Academic success is important and makes a difference to the lives of young people. Alongside this we realise the importance of recognising the wider achievements of our students and place value in recognising, celebrating and sharing in their successes. Our school is recognised as a good school, where our students enjoy the journey and share in understanding that they create the great school of the future.

↗️Skipper Training 2026 ↗️

Back in September, Miss Glenister met with 18 of our new Year 8 Skippers to discuss the skills required for the year ahead as well as opportunity to discuss what they plan to bring to their leadership roles 🏫

When asked what impact they can have on their school community, they said:

In total, we have 50 student Skippers across Years 8, 9 and 10. They have all been introduced to the peers in assembly and are now officially in role and already completed their first assignment - touring members of the public at this year's open evenings 👏

📣 Parent/Carer Evening Reminder – Thursday 8 October 2026 📣

A reminder that Parent/Carer Evening takes place on Thursday 8 October 2026. Parents/carers should already have received information about the event via our online booking system.

📧 Appointment booking emails have been sent from [email protected]. The parent/carer listed as the first priority contact on Bromcom will have received the booking link. If you have not received this email, please check your junk/spam folder before contacting the school.

✅ Appointments are 5 minutes long, and we kindly ask everyone to keep to their allocated times.
✅ We recommend leaving at least 10 minutes between appointments.
✅ Students are welcome to attend and are encouraged to be part of discussions about their progress and wellbeing.
✅ Please sign in at the main desk on arrival.
✅ Limited parking is available on site, with overflow parking available on the school playground if required.

Our staff will do their best to keep appointments running on time throughout the evening. If additional discussion is needed, teachers will be happy to arrange a follow-up conversation.

Your attendance at this important annual event is greatly appreciated. When schools and families work together, we can best support students to achieve academically, socially and emotionally.

🌱 Launching the Green Schools Challenge 2026! 🌍

A huge thank you to Gill and Richard from Buckinghamshire Skills Hub for joining us at Wednesday morning’s assembly to launch the Green Schools Challenge with our Year 9 students!

The launch encouraged students to think about sustainability, climate change and the impact our everyday choices have on people, places and the planet. They explored how everyone has a role to play in creating a more sustainable future, and how young people’s voices and actions can make a real difference.

We’re excited to see the ideas, creativity and positive changes our students will bring to the challenge! 💚💙💛

☕💚 Macmillan Coffee Morning – Wednesday 7th October! 💚☕

We’re once again holding our Macmillan Coffee Morning on Wednesday 7 October 2026, in the Main Hall from 9:55am–11:30am.

🍰 Students and staff can enjoy a delicious selection of cakes, biscuits and refreshments on their breaktimes in exchange for a donation of their choice, all in support of Macmillan Cancer Support.

💚 Last year, we raised an incredible £313.90! Let’s see if we can make an even bigger difference this year. Your donations help Macmillan provide medical, financial and emotional support to people living with cancer and their families.

✨ Come along on the morning and purchase a sweet treat
✨ Donate baked goods either homemade or shop-bought

📍 Food donations can be dropped off with the Site Team in their office (next to Mr Murray’s office) any time next week including the morning of the sale.

🏌️‍♂️⛳ Exciting New Golf Club Opportunity - Limited Places Available!

We're delighted to be launching a brand-new Golf Club as part of our Personal Development programme, giving students from all year groups the opportunity to learn and develop their golfing skills in a professional environment.

Whether you're an experienced golfer or have never picked up a club before, these taster sessions at Aylesbury Vale Golf Club will be led by a qualified PGA Professional, with all equipment, coaching and transport provided.

📅 Taster Sessions: Thursday 8 October & Thursday 15 October
📍 Aylesbury Vale Golf Club, Wing
🕓 Depart school: 3:15pm | Return: Approx. 5:30pm
🏌️ No equipment or previous experience required
👕 Students should attend in Grange PE kit

💷 Cost: The coaching session costs £65 per session, which is split equally between participating students. Depending on numbers, this will be approximately £4.35-£10.85 per student, per session. This includes PGA coaching, facilities, equipment and transport.

⚠️ With a maximum of just 15 places available, interested students are encouraged to register as soon as possible.

Netball is proving incredibly popular this academic year, with 40+ students regularly turning up to training! 👏🔥

The commitment, dedication and WE CAN spirit is fantastic to see and that hard work is translating into some brilliant performances on court.

🏆 Recent Results:

💙 Year 7 – 8–7 victory against St Michael’s School
💛 Year 8 – 9–2 victory against Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School
💙 Year 9 – 4–9 against St Michael’s School after a hard-fought and competitive game, with some stand-out moments of brilliant play and plenty of lessons to take forward.

⚽💙💛 A HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR WONDERFUL PTA! 💛💙⚽

We are so grateful to Friends of The Grange School, our amazing PTA for purchasing our brand-new football goals for our astroturf! 🥅🎉

The goals have already been built and are ready to be used straight away in PE lessons and after-school clubs. We know they’re going to get plenty of use and bring lots of fun to our students! ⚽🙌

🌟 Introducing The Grange School Diploma! 🌟

Last week, we launched our brand-new Grange School Diploma with our Year 8 and Year 9 students! 🎓👏

The Diploma gives every student in Year 8 and 9 something positive and achievable to work towards throughout the academic year regardless of academic ability.

Students will work towards Bronze, Silver or Gold, based on six key areas:

📅 Attendance
⭐ Conduct & positive contributions
📚 Homework
💡 Attitude to Learning
⏰ Punctuality
🎭 Engagement in clubs & activities

Students will track their progress during their weekly Check-In, Check-Out sessions with their form tutors and will have the opportunity to earn exciting rewards along the way! 🏆🎉

Most importantly, this is something we are developing together. Student voice will be central to reviewing and improving the Diploma throughout the year.

We’re excited to see our Year 8 and 9 students rise to the challenge! 🤩

This year’s theme is WONDER. A chance to look at the everyday in a new way and discover the poetry in the people, places and moments around us. ✨

To help mark the occasion, we're running our very own POETRY COMPETITION!

All you need to do is write a ONE-VERSE poem inspired by Wonder and bring it to the library by 10th October 2026.
