The TJS Girls team played against Bedgrove in their final league game of the season this evening. Despite going 2 goals behind in the first half, the girls battled excellently to level the game at 2-2. After some moments of individual brilliance from our opponents we unfortunately lost 5-2.
Not the result we hoped for or deserved but the girls have made us all so proud this season, really working hard for each other as a team ๐ช๐ฝ. They placed a brilliant 2nd place in the league! ๐ฅ
They are now looking forward to the inter school Mandeville School tournament on Wednesday.
Well done Girlsโฝ๏ธ๐๐
The Girls Football team played against Thomas Hickman School tonight in what was their final friendly match before Mondayโs league finale against Bedgrove Junior.
After a slow start, we scored an awesome goal to secure a 1-0 win! Our solid defense were amazing today and it was tough to get past them. Well done to all the team ๐ช๐ผ

The Boys A team played away at Buckingham Park this evening in a game which all but confirms them as second place in their division!
They battled well and had the better of the chances in a 1-1 draw. They were unlucky and couldn't quite find the back of the net to secure the win. Immensely proud once again of all the children. They have represented the school admirably this season ๐ชโฝ

Donโt forget to walk, ride and scoot to school to help us get on the leaderboard and win some prizes!

All our Year 6 students took part in a Creative Translation Project on Wednesday 9th March. We were honoured to welcome Georgia Wall from the Stephen Spender Trust https://www.stephen-spender.org/ who ran 3 translation workshops! The children studied an extract from the French book "Tobie Lolness". It was a brilliant opportunity to introduce the pupils to an authentic French story and to work in the original French text. With the help of a glossary, French was swiftly translated into English. The students then used their English vocabulary and skills to reflect on their first draft and improve their work. Wonderful work was produced, written in rich and evocative English. Bravo Year 6!
The TJS Boys Football team played Broughton Junior today. It was a good game but Broughton managed to follow up their opportunities and won 2-0. Our boys remained committed and continued to push to the very end. Very proud of the boys for not giving up today!

Very well done to all our Years 5 and 6! The children have now completed writing their letters to their pen friends at our partner school, รcole Notre Dame in Bourg - en - Bresse, France.
Our students wrote about their different experiences during the Christmas festivities or the various events they got up to during this last school holiday. It is a brilliant and enriching way to reflect on the similarities and differences of what children get up to from one country to another, with different cultures and different traditions.
Bravo to all 180 children who completed those 180 letters, which have now been sent to France to the delight of the students in Bourg!
