Congratulations to all of Year 11 who received their GCSE and BTEC Grades this morning. The levels of resilience, independence, and determination, shown by so many of our students, have been incredible and their hard work has paid off with so many achieving excellent results.

Respect | Aspiration | Resilience. Graded Ofsted ‘Good’, January 2019 The school forms part of the Aylesbury Vale Academy.

This means that, as they progress through the school, the children will be able to use the expertise of our secondary colleagues and the academy’s resources to enrich their learning and to provide additional challenge. The primary school is housed in a separate (neighbouring) campus: it has its own distinct identity and is led by its own headteacher and leadership team.

Congratulations to all of Year 11 who received their GCSE and BTEC Grades this morning.

The levels of resilience, independence and determination that so many of our students have shown throughout this time has been incredible and the hard work has paid off with so many students achieving excellent results which will set them up for a wide range of exciting career pathways.

Despite the return to pre-pandemic grade boundaries, our students have stepped up and found a way through the most challenging of times. The Academy is proud of the student’s ability to navigate this.

The majority of students achieved strong results in English and Maths as well as getting the grades they need to reach the next stage in their education, employment or training.

The results are a testament to the strong learning culture growing at AVA, the commitment and relationships between staff and students. Over the last year the Year 13 cohort has doubled in size and we are excited to grow the sixth form further through introducing new courses, expand our careers provision, and ensure students achieve the best qualifications they are capable of and get on to their ambitious career pathways. Please contact the sixth form team if you have any queries regarding joining the sixth form.

We would like to thank all staff for the huge amount of work that they put into planning, marking and assessing our students so that achieved the grades they deserve.

17/08/2023

Congratulations to all of Year 13 who received their Level 3 qualifications this morning.
We are particularly proud of this cohort given they did not have the benefit of a proper GCSE experience in the midst of the pandemic.

We are delighted that 100% of our students has passed and all have secured ambitious destinations for their next career stage. We celebrated with students opening their envelopes whilst receiving university offers on their phones. Despite the scramble for university places nationally this year, students have been offered places at Loughborough, Manchester and Birmingham to name a few.

76% achieved a Distinction/ *Distinction
With special mention to Maddie Wilson achieving 3 *Distinctions

The results are a testament to the strong learning culture growing in the sixth form, the commitment and relationships between staff and students at AVA. Over the last year the Year 13 cohort has doubled in size and we are excited to grow the sixth form further through introducing new courses, expand our careers provision, and ensure students achieve the best qualifications they are capable of and get on to their most appropriate career pathways to achieve their potential.

We are looking forward to celebrating again next week with Year 11 students receiving their Level 2 qualifications. There will be lots of careers advice on hand and an opportunity to apply to AVA sixth form if you have not already had an opportunity to do so.

We would like to thank all staff for the huge amount of work that they put into planning, marking and assessing our students so that they got the grades they deserve.

Aylesbury Vale Academy has partnered with Freedom Technology to offer parents an opportunity to purchase a laptop for their child's home learning. Home access to technology is crucial for success in the Secondary phase, as all home learning at AVA is conducted electronically through MS Teams.

Laptops can be purchased upfront or through monthly payments and include a full service/repair package. In case of repair delays, a temporary laptop can be loaned out.

Students on the SEN register or eligible for Pupil Premium support can use designated login details, as the Academy subsidises costs for these students. Children eligible for Free School Meals or in care will receive technology support through alternative means and are encouraged to reach out to Academy staff for queries.
