Ickford Pre-School & After-School Club A preschool for 2-5 year olds with wrap around care for 2-11 year olds from 7.45am to 6pm We look forward to welcoming you and your family to our school.

Ickford Pre-School offers care and education for children from two to five years old. In well equipped purpose built accommodation behind the Ickford School site, we offer unique progression for children into primary school. We also offer 'wrap-around care' in the form of a Breakfast Club and an After-School Club for children from two to 11 years. We aim to provide a safe, happy and stimulating environment for your child to play while encouraging the children to learn through the things they do. It is our intention to make our Pre-School, Breakfast Club and After-School Club genuinely accessible to children and families from all sections of the local community. We offer government-funded places for three and four year olds and welcome children from Ickford, the surrounding villages and the nearby towns of Thame, Wheatley and Aylesbury. The setting is OFSTED registered, a member of the Early Years Alliance and a registered charity. If you would like to visit the Pre-School, meet the staff and other children, please contact us.

🌈 What a colourful few weeks we’ve had! 🌈

We’ve had so much fun exploring colours at Ickford Pre-School, getting messy, creative and curious along the way!

Now it’s time to move on to shapes, and this week we’re going round and round with the circle! 🔵

We’ll be:
🍋 Using yummy circular fruit for mark making and painting
🧁 Baking some delicious lemon drizzle cakes
🧵 Having a go at sewing and practising some fine motor skills with some careful threading

There will be lots of exploring, creating, learning and, of course, plenty of fun! 💛

💙 This week at Ickford Pre-School, we’re taking inspiration from the colour BLUE! 💙

We have lots of exciting activities planned for the children, including:

🫐 Baking: We’ll be making delicious blueberry muffins together for the children to take home and enjoy.

🎨 Arts & crafts: We have lots of creative ideas to explore, including bubble painting using dish soap, blue paint and straws. 🫧

🩵 Playdough fun: The children can get creative with our homemade blue playdough, making models and exploring different shapes and textures.

🧘‍♀️ Mindfulness & yoga: As blue is often associated with calm and relaxation, we’ll be enjoying some mindfulness and yoga activities with the children too.

🌈❤️ WELCOME BACK TO ICKFORD PRE-SCHOOL! ❤️🌈

We hope everyone has had a fantastic summer filled with lots of fun, sunshine and special memories! ☀️ We’re so happy to be back and ready for another exciting year of learning, playing and growing together!

A very warm WELCOME to all our new starters and their families — we’re so excited to get to know you! And of course, a huge WELCOME BACK to all of our returning children. It’s lovely to see your happy faces again!

✨ Our theme this year is “Back to Basics” ✨

This week, we’re focusing on the colour RED and getting stuck into some lovely hands-on activities, including:

🎨 Making our own homemade playdough
🌿 Painting with natural inks made from ingredients such as beetroot and brambles
🧁 Baking some delicious red velvet cupcakes
🔴 Exploring everything RED through our play, creativity and learning

We’re looking forward to another wonderful year and can’t wait to watch all of our children learn, develop, discover and grow throughout the year. 💫

🌈 Goodbye to Our Wonderful Pre-School Leavers! 🌈

As another fantastic year comes to an end, it’s time to say goodbye to our amazing pre-school leavers. Watching you grow, learn, laugh, and make new friends has been such a privilege, and we are so proud of each and every one of you.

Although we’ll miss your smiling faces, we know you’re ready for your next big adventure. We wish you all the very best as you start school—be brave, be kind, keep asking questions, and never stop believing in yourselves. We know you’ll all do brilliantly!

To all of our wonderful children and families, thank you for being part of the Ickford Pre-School family this year. We hope you have a fantastic summer filled with fun, laughter, and special memories.

We can’t wait to welcome many of you back for Pre-School and After-School Club in September for another exciting year together.

It's time for a catch up on all the fun things we have been up to here at Pre-school recently.

We've managed the hot weather with lots of water play and splashing, looked at school rediness for our leavers and had so much fun these last few weeks.

We also had a wonderfully hot sports day - thanks to all who came along to cheer the children on and we even had our Pre-School trip to Thomley Hall!

It's been a blast! Now it's almost the end of term - just two more days to go!

Summer fair 2026!

Saturday 4th July - here at Ickford Pre-School 11am - 2pm!

So much to do including a bouncy castle with a slide, tombola, face painting and more! Not forgetting the BBQ and refreshments available too!

This is a great fundraising opportubity for the Pre-School and we cannot wait to see everyone here for some summer fun.

It will be a cashless event - tokens xab be purchased on the day to take part in activities and purchase food and drinks.

Last week we enjoyed saftey week. This week it is SMILE week!

We are looking at oral hygiene and how we keep our teeth and mouth healthy.

We have talks about tooth brushing and the best ways to keep our teeth clean. We will be doing some baking again and we have teeth related artwork to do too.

Lots of other exciting things going on too - look out for a post about our upcoming Summer Fair too!
