Drum roll please... We're very excited to announce the finalists of our Magic of the Dance with Dame Darcey Bussell school dance fitness competition, and they are:

HUGE congratulations to you all! As finalists, the primary and junior schools will perform a DDMIX dance fitness routine in front of the incredible Dame Darcey herself AND an audience of 500 guests at this month's WhizzFizzFest This ticketed event features a warm-up routine performed by Dame Darcey and her own dancers, followed by dance fitness performances from the school finalists personally selected by Dame Darcey from entries to our competition. Dame Darcey will then reveal the winning school at the end of the show!
Announcing the finalists, Dame Darcey said: “I was delighted with the effort and energy that had gone into each dance fitness routine and I can’t wait to see them perform on the day.” We can't wait to see you all cutting some moves! Best of luck to each school taking part - you're going to be WHIZZTASTIC!

If you don't have younger children you may not be aware that over the past year or so the Infant School PTA have been fundraising to help fund the new library at the Infant School which was built over the summer holidays.
We are now looking to fill the library with some great new books for the children to enjoy for years to come.
This Friday, 14th October ,we are holding a book donation day. If you have any nearly-new, unmarked books that you would like to donate to the new school library, please bring them to the Y2 playground at drop off time on Friday.
If you would like us to include a 'donated by' sticker inside the book, please put a piece of paper inside the book with your name and the book title on.
We are also looking for local businesses to sponsor the purchase of new books - if you know of any businesses which might be interested, please get in touch.

The BIG BASH (11.6.22) is a fantastic event for everyone including friends and family outside of Bedgrove Junior School. We have a fantastic array of things to do for the kids (including free bouncy castles and 3 entertainer shows) whilst the adults frequent the bar (plus a gin bar) and listen to the fantastic Victoria Reddington and the ever popular local band Micoran.
We have fantastic food available with a BBQ, Souvlaki House (Greek food) and Amor Nachos serving nachos and chilli which you can top off with pudding in the shape of ice cream, cookies and doughnuts! We also have our amazing Y5's getting creative with the stalls that they have available - a Tombola, keyring making, nail painting, guess teddy's name and Beat the Goalie to be entered into a prize draw. We also have face painting and glitter tattoos plus a Sweet Tombola (prize very time).
Tickets in advance (from school or Ruby Lane on Jansel Sq) are £20/family (2 adults/up to 4 kids) or £6 for a single ticket. You can most definitely buy on the gate too but prices are a little more expensive. GATES OPEN from 4pm.
However, we REALLY need some more help to make this an AMAZING event - please PM if you can help. We need at least one more person to help man the bar from 7.15pm (otherwise you'll be queuing)! And, we urgently need at least 2-3 people to help us manage the bouncy castles so you adults can enjoy Micoran's music even more! If we don't have these covered, they will need to be taken down.
PLUS any help tidying up afterwards would be most gratefully appreciated!

Could you be the next PTA secretary?
We urgently need someone to volunteer to fill this role to allow the PTA to continue to operate.
As a registered charity we are required to have the key roles of Chair, Secretary and Treasurer filled. Now that restrictions are starting to lift we are keen to get planning fundraising activities for the rest of the year to support the educational experience of our children. and this will not be possible if we are not able to recruit a Secretary.
The Secretary will need to be able to attend our half-termly meetings (currently held on Zoom), to take minutes and circulate these after the meetings.

Bedgrove Junior School PTA
Bedgrove Junior School PTA is a successful registered charity with the principle aim of advancing the education of the pupils of the school by providing and assisting in the provision of facilities for education at the school.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone who supported the PTA last year we were able to donate £11,500 to the school, which has gone towards lots of fantastic things including the purchase of the stage on the year 4/5 playground and contributions towards school trips for each year group.
Are you interested in getting more involved in raising funds for the school?
With school budgets being increasingly stretched, the money raised by the PTA is helping to provide additional educational resources and experiences for the children at the school. We aim to raise money by providing a variety of events for the children and families to enjoy throughout the year.
