=============================
* Is a teenager starting Year 11 in September? Did they struggle a little with French in Year 10 or get disappointing end of year exam results? *
- Would a pupil like opportunity to fully revise & be able to ask any questions? To start Year 11 with more confidence, be fully up to speed & ready for more challenging learning?
- If a student found Year 10 somewhat hard to fully follow, French gets more complex in Year 11. New GCSE topics are covered, eg Social & Environmental Issues, Climate Change, Dangers of the Internet & with them, challenging vocab’s introduced.
- By Year 11, pupils should be fully competent in all verb tenses & demonstrate use frequently. Consider French has over 100 irregular verbs to learn. Pupils ask me to explain when to use tenses, how to form them & how to remember which verbs are irregular.
- All pupils benefit from additional tuition. Did a student get Grade 8 in end of year exam but would like further assistance to aim for 9 in GCSE?
- The term ‘summer learning loss’, applies to long, summer holiday. It occurs in subjects in pupils’ native language. In foreign languages, essential learning’s more likely to be forgotten. It’s, therefore, wise for students to continue tuition in summer, refresh vital tenses, recap vocab & grammar.
** When going from Year 10 to 11, it’s critical to avoid ‘learning loss’. Starting Year 11 is challenging, particularly if pupils didn’t fully grasp all in Year 10 & they won’t able to catch up in class. **
