Our final Building Studies cohort has now left 🧱 After 10 years of the specialism, we will now focus on Digital and Health & Social Care, but wanted to share throwback of the past few years in the trade! Good luck to all students moving on this year.

Work experience continued 😄 – other industries include retail, schools, health, beauty and construction (in school). Hopefully this has provided our Year 10 students with an insight into the real-world careers available after school
Spread the joy of reading 📚 Become a Summer Reading Challenge 2024 volunteer. Buckinghamshire Council are looking for young people aged 14 to 25 to support the Summer Reading Challenge 2024 in local libraries 👀
Opportunities may include:
• Helping to run activities for children and families
• Handing out prizes and signing up new challengers
• Talking to children about the books they’ve read

Our Year 10 students recently completed work experience 👇 In the Digital sector, some students experienced IT services at Buckinghamshire Council and also 'Amber Networks', a local network consultancy business.

Last week some year 10 students enjoyed a great trip out to the London Gliding Club in Dunstable ✈️ They got to fly in a glider themselves and learn more about the gliding 👀
Every year on July 12th, the world celebrates 🌎 This is in honor of Nobel Peace Prize recipient Malala Yousafzai. Today's date also falls on her birthday, which seems fitting to honor an extraordinary girl who spent her life fighting for the rights of children and women.

Today, author Anthony McGowan visited to speak with year 10 and 12 🤩 His sessions included some great questions, plus his background in writing and education.
📖 Anthony kindly signed copies of his book ‘The Knife That Killed Me’ for all students
👀 Hopefully this has inspired many creative minds for future creative writing pieces
