A BIG thank you to School of Outdoors for coming into school yesterday to deliver silver The Duke of Edinburgh's Award

The The Duke of Edinburgh's Award training is well under way! All teams are making great progress with map reading, route planning, menu planning, first aid and so much more. Thanks to School of Outdoors for a fantastic day. Bring on June for the practice expedition!
Busy prepping for the Lowland Leader pre Training session tomorrow evening, thanks School of Outdoors for all your support.

Year 10 Silver The Duke of Edinburgh's Award - Update from School of Outdoors: Both groups doing exceptionally well!
The lows have been the weather and the cloud bursts for sure.
The highlights for them have certainly been making camp both nights and also making new friends with the girls from Didcot Girls School.
You are almost there.... Home this afternoon, warm shower, food from the cupboard or fridge and able to sleep in your own bed. Cannot wait to hear all about it tomorrow!
Year 9 DofE - and they are back! Lots of chat about, achievement and feeling proud of themselves and so they should be, we are all really proud of them! Big thank you to School of Outdoors!!!
Year 10 Silver DofE – Good luck to all Year 10 students doing their The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Silver Practice Expedition on Monday.
School of Outdoors have sent through communications about times and locations and remember it is a 9:30am start. Transport is not provided from school, participants will need to make their own travel arrangements to and from their Expedition.
A polite reminder to all students, if you haven’t done your COVID lateral flow test in the last few days, it would be a good idea to do one on Sunday evening.
A bit of a cloudy and overcast morning for the Year 9 Bronze The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Assessment Expedition. They were all very quick to get started, they meet their instructors from School of Outdoors and straight into route planning and re-packing their back packs with tents and cooking equipment. The sun is now shining and we hope they all have a fantastic time! See you all tomorrow.
Year 9 Bronze DofE – Good luck to all Year 9 students doing their The Duke of Edinburgh's Award Bronze Assessment Expedition tomorrow.

School of Outdoors have sent through communications about times and locations and remember it is a 9:30am start.

A polite reminder to all students, if you haven’t done your COVID lateral flow test in the last few days, it would be a good idea to do one this evening before tomorrow.
Nine groups of Year 9 students have started their Bronze The Duke of Edinburgh's Award this evening. It started with a sharp short shower of rain which quickly cleared and allowed for all teams to set up tents and get ready to make dinner. Wishing them all a good night's rest ready for a day of walking tomorrow. Big thanks to School of Outdoors !
Lots of personal walking and enjoying the outdoors in the last 12 months, but this weekend was about DofE. Great weather for a 'Gold' practice day and 2 day expedition in the Black Mountains.
Thanks to the School of Outdoors for putting on a great event.
