Thank you to whoever dropped off Tobys school work ❤️❤️❤️
How many of you bake with your children at home? 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️

Yesterday I had a lovely morning baking with the reception class at Quainton C of E Primary School - we made Dinosaur Shortbread biscuits to tie in with one of the letters they have been learning this week - D!

This morning I am continuing the learning while baking, and making cupcakes with my youngest, Harry 😊😊 he loves to help me count out the eggs, weigh the ingredients and help mix it all together

I am fully insured, registered and hold a level 2 certificate in food hygiene - I am also DBS checked - happy to discuss baking/decorating parties for your little ones special days!
Hi, I've just started doing the dinner ordering for September/October. There seems to be loads more choice than normal and they also offer sandwiches … I used to have to provide sandwiches if the girls weren't happy with the cooked option. So, is there lots more selection this coming year or, is there an error on the order form? Useful to hear from any other parent who has done the dinner ordering … Thanks, fliss😊
Sooooo sad!😢
I would just like to say a massive massive thank you to Gemma and Carolyn for making the Christmas school fair a wonderful day. In just a matter of weeks planning you managed to put together a wonderful event. To everyone else that’s helped with the planning and volunteering thank you so much!

Hidden gem of a primary school. Just a few miles outside Aylesbury.

URGENT QUAINTON SCHOOL CLOSURE TUESDAY 20TH DECEMBER

This evening I have been informed by Thames Water and Bucks County Council that we are to close the school for all pupils tomorrow - Tuesday 20th December.

2 underground reservoirs in Ashendon that serve the local area have sprung leaks. One reservoir has already completely drained and the other will be fully drained by tomorrow morning. Therefore there will be no water supply tomorrow in school. Other local schools have been advised to close too.

I apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but I am sure you understand.

Suffice to say the school holidays will start a day earlier than expected and sadly the Church service will not take place.

Kind regards
Mr. J Vernon

Instead I will hold a virtual Open Morning at the same time, where myself and others can introduce the school and answer any questions you may have.
To access the Open Morning please email [email protected] to receive a Google Meet link.
In the meantime please have a look at the videos on our website to get a flavour of what we offer.

Look what arrived in the PTA's post this morning! Our first fundraising project of the year... Christmas Cards! For those new to our school, this is when each child designs their very own Christmas card, which is then printed onto quality card in packs of 12 for you to purchase. We start early as the process takes a few weeks and then you should receive your cards in good time. You also have the opportunity to buy mugs and gift tags with the same design. We'll let you know when your child's design is ready to see and then you can place your orders by the online shop...

Dear Year 6 parents!

What a fantastic first day we have had. The kids have had a brilliant time, from an unscheduled climbing session to zorbing and raft building, an excellent time has been had all round.

After a lovely meal and an attempt at washing up - keyword being attempt - we are now sat around a fire roasting marshmallows. I'd love to say that's the only sugar they've had today, but somehow the children have bought a load of sweets with them. Thanks for those!

I'll share some photos on the website tomorrow. In the meantime, enjoy the peace and quiet!

Mr. Hughes

We hope the children enjoyed their tube of Smarties from us! This is a fundraising idea whereby you swap Smarties for coins - 20p coins fit perfectly - so you fill the now empty tube with coins to donate back to your PTA! Simply bring the Smarties tube to school (hopefully full of 20p coins!) and ask your child to give it to their teacher who will pass it on to us. Deadline is 25th May.
The class who raises the most will *win* a M***i Day!! Thank you for your support!

To help we would really appreciate your feedback, therefore please could you complete the OFSTED parent survey:

Dear Parents/Carers,

Re: School Closure Tuesday January 5th 2021

As a result of tonight’s announcement we will be closing Quainton School tomorrow until we are advised that we can reopen again.

Due to the lack of notice, we will commence home learning on Wednesday 6th January at 9am via Google classroom, this will allow staff time to properly plan and prepare their home learning.

We will be open to children of key workers and those designated as vulnerable throughout this lockdown. Regarding tomorrow, I would kindly ask for parents of key worker and vulnerable children only to send them into school if absolutely essential. This will allow us the necessary time to put the correct provision in place. If you have to send your key worker children in tomorrow they will not have to wear school uniform but will need a packed lunch. Please email [email protected] if you are sending your children into school tomorrow.

Key workers will be based on the list established during the first national lockdown in March. If your child is in Reception class and you are a key worker, or you have become a key worker since last lockdown, please email [email protected] to let us know. We will be using a booking system through ParentPay for these groups of children from Wednesday.

I really appreciate your understanding during these difficult times; I will communicate further information tomorrow with more detail about how we intend to move forward.

Kind regards and keep safe.

James Vernon
Headteacher

Message from the PTA:
Christmas cards designed by YOUR child!
The children have all designed their own Christmas cards and they've been sent off to have their personalised order forms printed which will be handed out to parents after half term. So if you can hold off from buying any Christmas cards until you see your child's own creation, the PTA would appreciate it as this is a great fundraiser for our school!
