Long Crendon Pre-School & Out of School Club

This week we've been thinking about the different shops that we go too but 1 in particular was the supermarket. We've spoken about where food comes from, what's healthy food and eating everything in moderation. We also had a fun afternoon making pizzas and having them as our snack.

We've been looking at chefs and bakers this week and starting to cover the topic of Autumn and the different seasons 🍂

We've had a lovely first week back. The children have enjoyed being Postman Pat! Designing stamps, posting letters and parcels and looking at different numbers.

Reminder of our upcoming AGM on Tuesday 17th September at 7:30pm which will be held at Pre-School.

As you may know Long Crendon Pre-School & Out of School Club is a non-profit making community charity run by the Parents Committee. Without the committee, the pre-school and out of school club would not exist.

Each year we look for new members, as parents often resign once their leave to start primary school.

Even though the weather has not felt like it this week, Pre-School have been trying to get into the summer spirit! We've been making ice creams, creating sunshines and lots of talk about our summer holidays🌞

We've been really enjoying the lovely weather 🌞 we've been having with lots of water play, back in our big sandpit and enjoying the mud kitchen.
We have also been looking at school uniforms, looking at letters in our names and drawing self portraits. 🙂

Our AGM meeting will be held on Tuesday 17th September at 7:30pm. We do welcome all members of the community to join the Committee, you don't need to be a parent to contribute. For more information, please email [email protected]

This week we have been looking at where we live. We have been recognising places in Long Crendon and looking at how we get on holiday. Children have been playing lots of cars and airports and they have been making different boats to see which ones were able to float .

We've had a lovely first week back! Our theme this term is summer holidays and getting ready to go to big school.
We've been busy gardening, had water and ice play, making patterns with shells and talking about different modes of transport as we all got excited and saw hot air balloons. 🌞

The children have been making mermaids this week! We have also been enjoying the glorious sunshine with lots of water play and bubbles

Pirate week!
The children have loved making treasure maps, becoming pirates and searching for treasure. We have also been carefully watching our caterpillars grow 🐛🦋

We've been looking at small sea creatures this week. The children loved making a rainbow fish pizza and making their own little sea

Welcome back!
We've had a great first week settling back in and started our new theme all about Under the Sea! This week we have been exploring the big sea creatures

This week has all been about Jack and the Beanstalk. We created our own cloud lands, beanstalks and been talking about heights.
We are also watching tadpoles grow in Pre-School! 🐸

Goldilocks and the 3 Bears!
The children have been making their own porridge, making their own footprints and gave Goldilocks a nice haircut.

This week has all been about the 3 Little Pigs!🐷🐷🐷

We have thoroughly enjoyed our space topic. We made lots of different aliens this week. Hope you have a lovely half term and see you back on the 19th February 😃

The children have loved learning all about space rockets this week. The rockets took us to many different planets 🪐

The pre-school committee have been busy behind the scenes organising a fabulous Spring Fun Day which is being held on Saturday 14th March.

In addition to the Tombola, we are also looking for Raffle prizes. If you have a prize, or know someone who could donate one, please do get in touch.

We have finished looking at all the planets 🌎🪐next week we are going to fly to space in our rockets!

The children have been learning about the moon, the sun and the stars this week

We have been speaking about Thanksgiving and had lovely discussions about being grateful this week. The children have made their own Turkey's and loved making their own pumpkin pies. We are also getting the room ready for Christmas! 🎄

Children have been exploring Diwali! The children have had a chance to make their own Diva lamps using craft, clay or salt dough, practice their mark making skills for Mehndi and we are getting ready for Children in Need 😄
