Dear Parents, Carers, Staff and the community,
I wanted to write today to express my gratitude and thankfulness for the huge upwelling of generosity, goodwill and community spirit that the Buckingham Park Christmas Angels Appeal has generated.
It was only a few weeks ago that a conversation between myself, Mrs Whytewood and a set of parents created the idea here and we had no idea how big this would be in its first year and how much help and support we would be able to generate. Today, we have taken donation of enough brand new, high quality and personalised gifts to support 45 children whose families will be helped over the Christmas period. This is over 1 in every 10 children in our school. Due to the huge generosity of the wider community, we will be able to provide not only gifts, but supermarket vouchers to support Christmas meals and Christmas chocolate, thanks to the kind donation from Budgens. This totals nearly £2000 which, with the financial situations that most families find themselves in at the moment, is nothing short of a Christmas miracle!
I have been quite overwhelmed this morning at the absolute unwavering willingness of so many of you to help the appeal, but also to offer time, other gifts and donations. Our School vision is in two parts, the strapline 'Excellence, through God who strengthens us' and the full vision: We aim to provide the highest quality all round education, for each and every child, in partnership with parents, within the context of a Christian community. This generosity for me shows that this vision as a school we promote is working, and beyond the borders of just our children. This has demonstrated real 'excellence' and has been done in partnership with you as parents and as an act of real community spirit.
I have attached a picture of just one of the 45 donations we will be making today to show you a glimpse of what our families today will be receiving.
We can't wait to hand these out this evening and we hope that this is something we can do year on year and hopefully, will be able to reach and support even more families next year!
Dan

While it was completed earlier this month, we formally opened our new community gym this morning. Thanks to the Buckinghamshire Council Local Area Board who provided a grant of £25,000 for the project. We worked with Coldharbour Parish Council (Fairford Leys) on a joint funding bid and their gym will be opened shortly.
Instructions on how to use the equipment, together with a QR code for a useful App, can be found on each workout station in the gym. We hope residents will enjoy using it.

Calling all teachers! Would you like to help Waddesdon Manor Learning create their annual Christmas art display?
This year, we're taking inspiration from 'The Tree That's Meant to Be', a heart-warming Christmas tale about embracing what makes us different. Join our Learning team for a special Zoom session this September where your pupils will think about what makes them unique. Their submissions will be written on metal trees and displayed for all our visitors to enjoy this Christmas.
It's easy to get involved, whether just one class or your whole school would like to take part! Find out how and book here: https://waddesdon.org.uk/your-visit/schools/projects-and-partnerships/
