As we say goodbye to 2022 we look forward to a new year and all the hopes and dreams that we wish to fulfil.

Making the most of the snow and building snowmen ⛄️❄️

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas 🎄

The temperature has definitely changed this week so the children have been exploring ice and textures of the frost! ❄️

The Spirit of Christmas has arrived at The Shepherds Hut🎄
This morning the children helped to create a snowman using natural resources on our site ☃️ We have also been taking part in all sorts of Christmas activities such as colouring and painting!

This afternoon the children were finding wiggly worms! They did some great digging and looked through the magnifying glasses to see them 🪱 🔍

Preparations for Christmas have started! 🎅🏻The children have been cutting wrapping paper and string to practise wrapping presents. They have also been counting and matching present blocks to the numbered Christmas trees 🎄

WINTER ❄️
This week we are learning all about winter! We have had a winter fairy garden tuff tray out🧚‍♀️ We have been pe***ng up our winter clothes and matching our wellies ready for mud and snow ⛄️ and finally, getting prepared for our winter holidays with hats and scarves! 🧣

This week is full of sensory fun! Our focus is changes in environments, habitats and hedgehogs 🦔 The children have enjoyed feeling different textures and brushing up their knowledge of where animals live! 🦌 🦕

For remembrance week we have made poppies out of play dough, painted crosses and used apple stamps to create our own poppies. We used red and purple to represent the fallen soldiers and animals 💂‍♂️🐾 ❤️💜

To end our Fire Week - A campfire tuff tray, our own Guy Fawkes 🎆 Firework painting and marshmallows on our fire! 🔥 We have had an incredibly interactive end to the week celebrating Bonfire Night 🎇

This week we are learning about fire safety! The children have been learning what number to call in case of an emergency and what to do if there is a fire. Yesterday we had an exciting visit from the fire brigade who showed us ‘stop, drop and roll’ and the safety equipment used to put out a fire and prevent you from getting burnt #safety #criticalthinking #emergency #fire #999 #outdoorlearning #wendover ⛑☎️🚨🔥

To end our week we made spooky potions, using our science knowledge to make fizz!Read spooky stories and went on a lovely Autumnal walk! Isn’t this weather just lovely!🍁🍁

Autumn means lots of leaves, colours and textures! This week we have watched leaves fall from the trees, collected and got creative with them 🍂🍁🍃

🚀 This week we have been learning about space! We have been playing with sandy planets, making slimey food for aliens, creating asteroid marks with conkers and making music with our space drums🛸

Part-time Nursery Assistant

Monday - Friday 11:45 am - 2:15 pm

To assist with lunchtime cover

Come and join our fun loving team and little explorers. You will be required to assist the team during the delivery of lunches, ensuring the children are supported. After lunch you will be required to clean all areas of food preparation, tables, high chairs etc. Once lunchtime is over, you will then assist the team with any other duties that may be asked if you.

This week we have been learning about animals and their natural habitats! We have been searching for bugs and talking about the different places that animals live around the world 🌵🌳🦓🐘🐳🐞🦉❤️

The last couple of weeks we have been focusing on Autumn and hearts! We have played with pumpkins, leaves, conkers! As well as jelly hearts, blue string veins and stethoscopes! 🍂 ❤️

We would like to welcome back all of our children and parents who are returning for another year ☺️ and a special welcome to our new children and parents! 😁 It may be wet and drizzly but we have a fun packed term ahead!! 🍃☔️

This week is National Teddy Bear and Literacy week! We have been busy having tea parties and reading a variety of books! 🐻📚

Our vegetable patch is growing strong! So far we have cucumbers, squashes, raspberries, rhubarb and melons! 🍉🥒

Yesterday we had a special visitor! Jenna came for cuddles, carrots and brushes! They also learnt about the hoof and horse shoes! Exploring the horse lorry was another activity that they thoroughly enjoyed 🐴❤️ #wendover #horses #animals #outside

We had the s’mores on pause during the heatwave. Great to finally be able to have a campfire again after a bit of rain!

This week was Archeology week! We have been searching for metal with our metal detectors, making dinosaur footprints, colouring dinosaurs and digging for fossils! 🦖🦕
We also had a delivery of construction materials so we built our own climbing frame!

We are looking for a Forest School Assistant who enjoys inspiring children to learn outdoors to join our team.

You will support the FS Leader in weekly activities to support self-esteem, self awareness and building the children’s confidence in a natural environment.
