Due to an emergency C-section and the critical situation our baby was in, I too didn’t get that straight and symmetrical 3.5-inch incision that this author of this post didnt get— now, I could sit here and get self-conscious about the scar I have, but then I can remember that this incision was made to save our son’s life.

I also wanted to show that something absolutely beautiful was a result of something you or society may think as 'ugly.' alongside the Mummu that created this post. I’m not going to hide behind this scar or be upset about it as I have a healthy baby because of this incision. It’s going to be a reminder not only to never take things for granted but how amazing and resilient my body is.

C-section mamas...this scar shouldn’t make us Mums insecure. We had a human cut out of us—That makes us all a WARRIOR. Remember that.

I have just seen this post explaining the war in the Ukraine for younger children.

A friend wrote this for her daughter…..

I was in Morrisons doing some shopping today when Megan called me. She was out with her friends and said "Mum, one of the boys said Russia is about to enter the UK and start fighting us, so we're really scared".

Well, I'm not sure what anyone around me shopping thought about my explanation to a bunch of 11 year olds about Russia and Ukraine, but it went something like.....

After the last BIG playground fight (WW2), lots of popular kids (WORLD LEADERS) got together and made a big gang (NATO), and all the kids in the gang made a pinky promise (TREATY) to be nice and respectful and not fight each other anymore.

This means not going into each other's part of the playground (COUNTRY) without permission, and not throwing sticks or stones (HEAVY ARTILLERY) at each other, and the UK is part of the gang.

But then a new kid (UKRAINE) joined the playground, and a big bad bullly (RUSSIA) started picking on the new kid, all because he is greedy and bossy and wanted the new kids playground space for himself, even though he has one of the biggest spaces in the playground.

But sadly, the new kid is not part of the gang because the big bad bully didn't want the new kid to join the gang.

We would be breaking our pinky promise if any of the gang members help the new kid fight the bully.

We have all told the bully off, and stuck up for the new kid by hiding the bully's pocket money until the bully stops hurting the new kid (SANCTIONS) and this will hopefully stop the bully from buying more sticks and stones.

We have also given the new kid lots of our own sticks and stones to fight the bully, because this is not breaking the pinky promise!

Even though it is really, really sad, all we can do now is stand on the edge of the playground and watch and give moral support to the new kid, because we are not allowed to fight the bully for them, not without breaking the pinky promise.

BUT... if the bully breaks the pinky promise and comes into our part of the playground (UK) without permission and throws a stick or stone at us, then the whole of the gang (NATO) will come and help us, and we will ALL jump on top of the bully (RUSSIA) and beat him up. 🤺🤺🤺🤺🤺🤺🤺

Now don't worry anymore sweetheart, just go and play nicely together in the sunshine and don't get up to any trouble. 😊😊

So true! 🤱Its been an honour and privilege being a parent, however short their youth seems. 👶Mines an amazing young adult now and it’s never lost on me that parenthood is a gift not everyone is lucky enough to experience 🥰

When you first have children they talk about the challenges of parenting....the struggles of a baby waking in the night,
the toddler who won’t stay in their bed, the cost of childcare, injuries from sports...

Having to take off work to pick them up from school when they don’t feel well, helping them with homework, a messy house, the never ending laundry, the cost to buy school clothes, packing their lunches....

You watch their eyes light up on Christmas morning....and try to soak in the magic of those moments.

You coach them in sports, rushing to practices and ballgames...and tote them all over the country to let them play the game they love...no matter how exhausting or expensive it becomes.

Life is just so busy that you rarely even stop to think what the end of those days look like.

In fact, it’s not really even something you can wrap your mind around.

You go into it thinking that 18-20 years sounds like a long time....

Then suddenly hours turn into days...days into months...and months into years.

That little person that used to crawl up next to you in bed and cuddle up to watch cartoons...suddenly becomes this young adult who hugs you in the hallway as they come and go.

And the chaos and laughter that used to echo throughout your home....gets filled with silence and solitude.

You’ve learned how to parent a child who needs you to care for and protect them....but have no clue how the whole “letting go” thing is supposed to work.

So you hold on as tight as you can...wondering how time passed so quickly...feeling guilty that you missed something....

Because even though you had 20 years.....it just somehow doesn’t seem like it was enough.

You ask yourself so many questions...

Did you teach them the right lessons?
Did you read them enough books as a child?
Spend enough time playing with them?
How many school parties did you have to miss?
Do they really know how much you love them?
What could I have done better as a parent?

....When it’s time for them to go, it all hits you like a ton of bricks.

And all you can do is pray....hope....and trust that God will protect them as they start to make their way into the world alone.

Parenting is by far the most amazing experience of your life....that at times leaves you exhilarated....while others leave you heartbroken.

But one thing is certain.....it’s never enough time...💕

So for all the parents with young children...whose days are spent trying to figure out how to make it through the madness...
Exhausted day in and day out...

Soak. It. All. In.

Because one day....all those crazy days full of cartoons, snuggles, sleep overs, Christmas morning magic, ballgames, practices and late night dinners...

All come to an end.

And you’re left hoping that you did enough right, so that when they spread their wings....

They’ll fly...💕💕💕

🎤🎶TRY SINGING THROUGH THE STRESS ANGER & FRUSTRATION 🎶
How does SINGING help?

1. Singing is actually proven to lower stress levels!
2. Singing forces you to pause and take a breath, helping you calm and center
3. Singing catches your child’s attention as they’re not expecting it!
4. It can help diffuse tension and lighten the mood- especially if you make it a silly song or do goofy voices 😅
5. Most importantly, it’s pretty hard to shout angrily while singing 😬 (and really mean it!)

🎶 Here’s a suuuuper simple technique learned when teaching classes of thirty 4 and 5 year olds (a gorgeous but oh my goodness exhausting!)-S I N G I N S T R U C T I O N S 🎶

🎶 Not necessarily a known song (although that’s the easiest go-to if you use a recognisable tune) but you can actually sing what it was you were next going to ask them to do. Put it to a favourite tune or make up your own.

🎶 “Please put on your shoes!” “I said come for dinner everyone!” “Time to tidy up and get ready for bed!”
