Have you seen we are advertising? We are looking for one more teacher specifically for our Polar Bear KS2 class. The Den is our 12 place Unit provision specifically for Comunication and Interaction.

I can’t believe how much we packed in! A whole load of strategies, understanding and knowledge shared that will go far wider than the classroom.

Work trip to spend two full on days with Bearbrook Combined School & Pre School

Really excited to be returning to this team.

BUT the over planning!!!

The over planning is almost done, following a list broken down into a few categories (food, clothing, toiletries, work stuff)

Two identical packed lunches of food I’m ok with.

Enough fuel in the car to do the journey 5 times over.

Hotel booked some time back (after spending hours deliberating the best one of 4 based on breakfast options, parking, distance from school) and further phone calls to them to ensure parking is ok!

Clothing chosen based on both comfort but not looking too “unprofessional”!!! (with back up options!)

Thankfully I’m visiting a school I have been to twice before and are always so welcoming and kind!

I am excited about the new year, during which I will be returning to many of the places and people from 2023 and some bookings from new organisations, to continue sharing autistic insight and raise the voices of autistic children and young people.

Christmas Lunch and Christmas Jumper Day TOMORROW!

Tomorrow is our Christmas Lunch and also Christmas Jumper day. Children can wear their Christmas Jumper over their uniform instead of their jumpers/Cardigans (It is NOT a m***i day - Christmas Jumpers only).

Don’t forget Family Friday tomorrow…. And we’re getting ready for Christmas!!! 🎄

So if you are in Year 1 or 2, you will know that last week, we had a visit from Dr Emily and the Aquafresh shine bright team to talk to the children about the importance of oral hygiene. The children took part in fun lessons and activities to learn how to brush their teeth properly and the importance of looking after your body. They also discussed healthy diets and what foods are good for our teeth.
Here’s the final video! This will be used for trade shows, talks and promotional material! 🦷

P.s. she was also on Loose Women today talking about the campaign! sadly we didn’t make the edit but we may be on BBC Iplayer this week!!

TOMORROW Y1- Y6 Family Friday

Just to confirm the arrangements for Family Friday TOMORROW (Reception children had their FF on Wednesday! 🙂)

Parents can register from 8.50 in the hall - please enter via the blue gates by Pre School. There will be an opportunity for you to download the Boom Reader App on your phones when IN THE HALL ONLY. (Please be reminded all phones should be turned off when in classrooms and corridors)

9.15am - Parents can leave to go to classrooms

9.15 - 10.20 Family Friday for Y1

9.15 - 10.45 Family Friday for Y2 and Y3

9.15-10 Family Friday for Y4, Y5 and Y6 - 1st session
10-10.15 Break - Parents MUST come to the hall while chn are out at break (this is for safeguarding reasons)
10.15 - 10.45 Family Friday for Y4, Y5 and Y6 - 2nd session

10.45 - All parents to sign out as they leave.

Please be reminded:
🐻 You must sign in and wear your sign in sticker throughout the morning. (Drop in the hat as you leave for your chance of winning the gift card treat!)
🐻 We are limited to two parents per family only please.
🐻 Unfortunately we cannot take younger siblings/ pushchairs/ prams/ babies in the classrooms due to health and safety reasons.

Timings and plan for tomorrow morning:

8.50 - parents sign in as normal via the blue gates near pre school
9.15am - parents go to current classes
10am - Break for all children (*Y6 parents feel free to stay and join us for a break before you leave)
10.15-11.15am - (current Rec-Y5) New class children & parents
11.15am - All parents to ensure they have signed out
*Y6 have already had transitions to new secondary schools. It is at this point, we would welcome you to stay for the break but please ensure you sign out at this time.

As you can imagine, we anticipate tomorrow to be VERY BUSY. For that reason, please make sure you read the below:
🐻 During the break time, you will be directed to go to the hall. No parents to join children at breaktimes and we ask you refrain from waiting in corridors please. (Come and join us for a cuppa and a biscuit instead!)
🐻 Please be reminded to make sure you are wearing your sticker at all times (safeguarding reasons). We are limited to two adults per family please.
🐻 Please ensure mobile phones are turned off. No photography/ camera access. If you need to take a phonecall, please come to the main entrance and we can find a space for you
🐻 Unfortunately we can’t allow babies/ toddlers/ pushchairs or hot drinks in classrooms for health and safety reasons
🐻 There will be a few members of staff and Y6 children to guide you to new classrooms. Please bear with us, as this may take some time.

Family Friday is actually Family Thursday - and it’s tomorrow!! Sign in from 8.50am! 😊
