📢 SPORTS DAY UPDATE 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️💙💛

Please note that our Sports Day has been rescheduled to Monday 6th July.

⏰ Timetable for the day:
💙 Years 1 & 2: 9:00am – 10:00am
💙 Years 3 & 4: 10:00am – 11:00am
💙 Years 5 & 6: 11:00am – 12:00pm
🧺 Picnic Lunch: 12:00pm – 1:15pm
💙 Reception Classes: 1:30pm

We can’t wait to celebrate a fantastic day of teamwork, determination and fun with all of our pupils. Families and friends are welcome to come along and cheer everyone on! 🌟

Due to the forecast of continued high temperatures, Bearbrook Combined School will remain closed on Friday 26th June.

📅 Children should return to school on Monday 29th June.

There will be no further online learning provided; however, pupils should continue with any work that has already been set.

💬 Teachers will be available to respond to messages via ClassDojo during normal school hours.

This decision has been made with the safety and wellbeing of our pupils and staff as our priority.

Pick up at 12.30 pm tomorrow please and closed all day Wednesday and Thursday. Sports Day is postponed on Friday. Online learning will be provided by Tuesday evening.

With very warm temperatures forecast throughout the week, we are asking all families to help us keep children safe, cool and comfortable during the school day.

Please ensure your child comes to school each day with:
☀️ Suncream applied before school
🧴 Additional suncream in their bag to top up at lunchtime
👒 A hat to protect their face and neck
💧 A named water bottle filled with water

🍃🧤 Year 2 Litter Pick with The Wombles! 🧤🍃

Today, our Year 2 pupils teamed up with The Wombles to help keep our local environment clean. We collected litter from around the school grounds and the area outside the front of the school, gathering an impressive amount of rubbish!

🌍 Refugee Day 💙

A huge thank you to everyone in our school community who donated so generously for Refugee Day. Thanks to your kindness and support, we collected an incredible amount of clothing, household items, and essentials to help refugee families in need.

We were delighted to hear that this volume of donations would normally take almost two months to collect, meaning your generosity has given families a fantastic head start 🫶🏼

🎉 Year 3 had a fantastic time at the Aylesbury Games School Tour with DJ Dan Blaze! 🎶

The children enjoyed a variety of exciting games, fun quizzes, energetic relays, and lots of laughter throughout the day. Even a little bit of rain couldn’t dampen our spirits – everyone showed great enthusiasm, teamwork, and determination from start to finish! 🌧️💪

A wonderful day of fun, friendship, and active learning. Well done, Year 3! ⭐

Year 3 are currently immersed in their Ancient Egyptian history unit, and it seemed like the perfect time for a throwback to their fantastic workshop with Historic Workshops! 🏺✨

The children became history detectives as they investigated artefacts, uncovered fascinating facts, and explored what life was like in Ancient Egypt thousands of years ago. From pharaohs and pyramids to mummies and hieroglyphics, their curiosity and enthusiasm brought history to life!

What a memorable hands-on experience that helped deepen their understanding of this fascinating civilisation. 🐫📜
