๐ŸŒฟ Explorers in the Wild! ๐ŸŒฟ

This afternoonโ€™s Welly Walk turned into a sensory adventure! ๐Ÿ‘ฃโœจ
The children had a brilliant time discovering nature, rubbing leaves between their fingers and finding some with a surprising lemony scent ๐Ÿ‹ (some loved it, others werenโ€™t so sure! ๐Ÿ˜„).

We wandered through the swishy, swashy grass and wildflowers, just like in We're Going on a Bear Hunt, full of laughter, curiosity, and wonder! ๐Ÿพ๐ŸŒพ

And what a beautiful morning it was in Forest School...the perfect setting for little explorers to connect with the outdoors. ๐ŸŒž๐ŸŒณ

๐ŸŒˆ DRIVEN BY LOVE ๐ŸŒˆ

At Spring Nursery, weโ€™re passionate about helping our little ones grow up with strong values, honesty, positivity, and a deep respect for the beautiful diversity in our world. Pride Month is a wonderful chance to celebrate who we are and to teach kindness, acceptance, and love for others, no matter our differences.

This week, weโ€™ve been embracing the spirit of Pride with joyful rainbow-themed activities! ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ The children have been busy creating their own rainbow flags, building colourful Duplo masterpieces, and enjoying stories that celebrate all kinds of families. The rainbow flag is more than just coloursโ€”itโ€™s a symbol of pride, inclusion, and the beauty of being yourself. Weโ€™re proud to share that message with our children every day.

๐ŸŒŸ **Inventors Week โ€“ DRIVEN BY LOVE & Passion** ๐ŸŒŸ

With the sunshine in full swing this week, we made the most of the mornings by heading outdoors early to enjoy the fresh air before the heat set in! โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒฟ

The children had a fantastic time baking muffins ๐Ÿง and playing hide and seek. As the day warmed up, we shifted gears with lots of creative artwork, both indoors and in our shaded garden space. And of course, there was plenty of splashing and giggling during water play! ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐ŸŽจ

A truly wonderful week filled with fun, creativity, and joyful moments. ๐Ÿ’›

Driven by love
๐Ÿ’š our tiniest adventurers took their very first Welly Walk into Forest School! ๐Ÿฅพ๐ŸŒณ

For the very first time ever, our brave Explorers (0โ€“2 years) stepped out into the great outdoors, and they absolutely LOVED it ๐Ÿ˜ There was so much excitement as they explored all the little nooks and crannies of the area ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ‚

The biggest hit? A dark, mysterious space behind the trees with a natural archway they could walk through ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒฟ What an adventure!

This was such a special opportunity for them to get familiar with the Forest School environment and begin building a connection with the natural world right from the start ๐ŸŒŽโœจ

Weโ€™re already SO excited for their next adventure ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™‚๏ธ The journey has only just begun!

๐ŸŒฟ Driven by Love โ€“ Forest School at Spring RAF Halton ๐ŸŒฟ

At Spring, one of our core values is passion and it shines through in everything we do.
"Staff are passionate about their work and dedicated to providing high-quality care and education."

One of the most loved expressions of that passion is our Forest School. Led by our dedicated Forest School leader, both staff and children absolutely LOVE their time exploring, learning, and growing in our outdoor space.

Hereโ€™s a peek into our adventures this week:

๐Ÿƒ Inventors got creative with leaf printing in clay! They explored a variety of leaves, noticing how each tree leaves a unique imprint. This sparked wonderful conversations about shapes...round, square, rectangle...and how nature creates its own patterns.

๐Ÿ” Navigators went on a nature hunt, discovering sticks, seeds, nuts, and more. They compared sizes and shapes, and were full of curiosity as they made new discoveries about the world around them.

Every day in Forest School is a new opportunity to connect with nature, spark imagination, and nurture a lifelong love of learning.
If you want to see what explorers were up to....wait for our next post๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’š

Our last duckling moments with the Explorers (0โ€“2) ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿ’›

We had such a lovely time saying goodbye to our fluffy little visitors last week. One of our Explorers had a special connection with them, a true duckling whisperer!
Everyone was so gentle and sweet with the ducklings, such a heart warming sight to see. ๐Ÿฅฐ

๐Ÿฆ† DUCKLING UPDATE! ๐Ÿฆ†

Our fluffy little visitors have now waddled their way back to the farm and oh, what a week itโ€™s been!

We had front-row seats to watch them grow, splash, and learn to swim (with some serious zoomies in the water tray that left us all a bit soggy but giggling!) They brought so much joy, noise, and a lot of mess to the room, cheeping at us and each other like they had so much to say!

Sadly, little Plum Sauce didnโ€™t make it out of their egg, a gentle reminder of the natural cycle of life ๐Ÿ’›

Weโ€™ll miss our quacky crew: Star, Scrappy, Pancake, and Foxson, thanks for the memories, little ones! ๐Ÿฃ

"In Forest School today we were making some seed bombs using British wildflower seeds, soil, flour and water. We looked at the different flowers on the packets and then when we opened the packets of seed we could see that they were different shapes and different sizes. ๐Ÿฆ๐Ÿฆโ€โฌ›
We mixed the soil, flour and water with our hands which then were very muddy! As we were mixing we talked about what it felt likeโ€ฆ.watery, slimy, wet, like a volcano, itโ€™s erupting, cold.โ›ฐโ›ฐ
Once the soil, flour and water were mixed we added the seeds. Then we were able to roll the mixture into balls. When they have dried we will be able to take them home and plant them in our gardens. Hopefully they wonโ€™t take too long to dry out, but as you can see some are quite big! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿซฃ๐Ÿ˜‚ as the mixture dried on our hands one Inventor was heard to say that it was all cracky, it was wet and now it dried!" - C.S *Forest School Leader*.

Welcome To Spring RAF Halton

Spring RAF Halton is a 52-place nursery set in the residential area of Halton, Buckinghamshire. The nursery is purpose built on ground level, offering ramps for prams or wheelchair access.

Our healthy snacks and home cooked meals are prepared daily on site by our chef who caters for all dietary requirements, allergies & weaning stages. We offer spaces for the local community, military and civilian and we aim to be as flexible as possible to suit all parentsโ€™ needs.

We have one big room divided into two separate spaces so that children can learn and develop at their own pace: Butterflies for the under 2s and Dragonflies for children 2-5 years. Both have access to an undercover paddock area so the children can play outside all year round. The Paddocks then connect to a large secure outdoor area, with rural views, where children are encouraged to explore, play and extend their learning.

Our staff are fantastic: they are dedicated, driven, highly qualified practitioners who support all childrenโ€™s learning and development, especially our children with additional needs.
