🐝🌱 Today's Home-Grown Harvest! 🌱🐝

Today we enjoyed harvesting our very own home-grown "running beans", as the children like to call them! We added them to our pasta dish for lunch.

The children were fascinated to discover that the bright red colours on the beans disappeared during cooking, and they loved seeing how the beans changed. Best of all, the pasta tasted delicious, and everyone enjoyed trying something they had helped to grow themselves! 🍝💚

🦋We found a moth in discovery city (our Construction area)! 🦋

The moth was carefully placed onto a block on the table so everyone could have a look at it as it was getting a little crowded where we found it. Inventors were very quiet when talking about the moth; reigniting our curiosity about lifecycles and the colours of different butterflies and moths.

We then took it outside so it had a chance to fly away and find his home but he wasn’t eager to head home as it fluttered between everyone landing on our hands, trousers and arms! Everyone so gentle with the moth it was even named Elmer the moth. It then flew off into forest school and everyone continued to play, occasionally going to check it was okay.🦋
