With the cooler but still warm weather, the toddlers have been busy getting out and about, exploring the environment around them on walks through the village! πŸŒ³β˜€οΈ

The toddlers did an amazing job holding onto the walking rope and staying together as we looked at all the different things around us. While on our walk, we spotted lots of bins! The children noticed that some were blue and green, which sparked a conversation about recycling and what different things we can put into our recycling bins. β™»οΈπŸ—‘οΈ The toddlers were full of ideas as we sharing ideas with one another. This was especially lovely to see the children's enthusiasm shine through as we have become an Eco Setting.🌍

When we stopped for a well-deserved drink break, we were very excited to spot a bin lorry! πŸš› The toddlers eagerly waved to the bin men and women as they went past. πŸ‘‹

It was so lovely to see the toddlers’ curiosity shine as they explored a different environment, noticed what was happening in their local community and learnt more about caring for the world around them. 🌿

This week at nursery, our little learners have been busy getting creative outdoors! 🌿πŸͺ΅

We've been making signs for our mud kitchen, building bug hotels to welcome mini wildlife visitors, and learning all about caring for nature along the way. 🐞πŸͺ²

We're also delighted to share that we have achieved our Eco Accreditation! πŸŒπŸ’š This is a wonderful recognition of all the hard work our children and staff have put into looking after our environment and developing sustainable habits.

We're so proud of everything they've accomplished and can't wait to continue our eco journey together! 🌱✨

✨ Books That Boogie – Rainbow Fish! 🌈

This week's Books That Boogie session was all about the wonderful story of The Rainbow Fish! πŸŒŠπŸ’™

We had so much fun exploring the story through play, songs and sensory activities. The children loved wearing their animal and sea creature headbands, playing with our fish-themed props, and getting hands-on with shimmering sequins and lots of different textures inspired by Rainbow Fish's beautiful scales. ✨🐟

Our toddlers enjoyed a little adventure over to the school car park, where we were excited to watch the diggers hard at work! πŸ‘·πŸšœ The toddlers were fascinated as they watched the big machines move, lift and dig, pointing out all the different parts and chatting about what the diggers were doing.

Afterwards, we found the perfect shady spot under a tree to cool down and enjoy a story together. πŸŒ³πŸ“– Sitting together in the fresh air created such a calm and relaxing atmosphere, and the children loved listening to the story while enjoying the gentle breeze.

Outdoor experiences like these help to develop children's language and communication skills, encourage curiosity about the world around them, and promote storytelling. It was a wonderful outing full of learning, imagination and smiles! πŸ’šβœ¨

🌈 Colourful Stepping Stone Fun! 🌈

In Toddler Room we had lots of fun exploring upside-down stepping stones filled with coloured water! The children carefully walked through each one, using their balance and coordination as they moved from stone to stone. πŸ‘£βœ¨

As they splashed through the different colours, we talked about what colours we could see, compared them, and even mixed some together to see what would happen. πŸŽ¨πŸ’™β€οΈπŸ’›

This simple activity encouraged the children to develop their gross motor skills, balance, confidence, colour recognition and curiosity, all while having lots of sensory fun! It was wonderful to see everyone cheering each other on and enjoying the challenge. 🌟😊

This morning, the babies had lots of fun exploring paint and sensory balls! πŸŸ‘πŸ”΅ They rolled the balls through the paint and across the paper, creating a variety of colourful marks and exciting patterns. 🌈✨

The babies watched with interest as the balls moved across the paper, discovering how different movements created different patterns. This engaging activity promoted sensory exploration, encouraged hand-eye coordination, and gave them opportunities to investigate textures, colours, and movement in a fun and playful wayπŸ’›

πŸŽ“πŸŒ³ A Fond Farewell to Our Wonderful Preschool Leavers! πŸŒ³πŸŽ“

Last week we said goodbye to our Tiny Acorns Class of 2026! Some of these children have been with us since they were tiny tots in the baby room and others have joined us along the way! This year we've also said goodbye to families we've known for over 7 years!

The children gave a memorable performance to their loved ones and received a special personalised keepsake bag with:
-A handmade photo frame with a graduation photo
-A career tag of what the Preschool team think the child will grow up to be
-A graduation certificate
-A special handmade acorn biscuit!
The Preschoolers also "signed out" together one last time on the graduation banner.

We are so incredibly proud of everything our Preschoolers have achieved and we know that the support and care of Tiny Acorns Nursery has set them up for the best start to their education.

Good luck to all of our preschool leavers – you'll always be a part of the Tiny Acorns family. πŸŒ³βœ¨πŸ’›

Our little explorers have been having lots of fun in the crawl-in sand pit! πŸ–οΈ They loved scooping, pouring, filling containers, and discovering the different textures of the sand. Sensory play like this helps to develop fine motor skills, curiosity, and independence while providing endless opportunities for learning through play. ✨
