Dear Parents and Carers,
What does your child enjoy most after school?
Getting creative? 🎨 Joining in with a big group game? 🪂 Building something with LEGO? 🧱 Or simply choosing what they feel like doing that day?
At Oak Green School, S4A Wraparound Care gives children a mix of planned activities and plenty of Children’s Choice, so they can enjoy the things that interest them most.
🌅 A positive start to the morning
Our Breakfast Club gives children time to enjoy a nutritious breakfast 🍎, spend time with friends and take part in games and activities before lessons begin.
There are opportunities to get moving too, including simple group games and active play, helping children start the morning feeling settled, engaged and ready for the school day ahead.
☀️ What’s happening after school?
Here’s what children can look forward to at Oak Green:
🎨 Monday – Crafty Creations
Children can get creative with a range of arts and crafts activities, before having time later to enjoy Children’s Choice with the toys, games and equipment available.
🪂 Tuesday – Parachute Games
Group games and challenges with the big parachute make Tuesday a fun and active afternoon. Later, children can choose how they want to spend their time through Children’s Choice.
🧱 Wednesday – LEGO Challenges
Build, design and test different LEGO creations, using imagination and problem-solving along the way. Later, children can once again choose from the activities and equipment available.
🔴 Thursday – Dodgeball
A fast-paced afternoon of skill-based games and plenty of Dodgeball fun, followed by more Children’s Choice later in the session.
😊 Friday – Children’s Choice
A more relaxed end to the week, where children can choose from a range of games, activities and resources and enjoy some child-led play with friends.
💙 Their afternoon, their choice
Some children love structure. Others enjoy having the freedom to decide what they want to do.
By combining planned activities with regular Children’s Choice, we can give children both, something to look forward to and the freedom to follow their own interests.
For parents, it also means having a familiar and flexible option available around the school day whenever it works for your family.
