22º Celsius, clear skies, and the kind of sunshine that reminds you why you fly. Mark Anderson made the most of a perfect day, taking off from and cruising into via in HAC’s PA28 EDGA — a journey where every mile felt like the start of summer.

A group of pilots from Halton Aero Club had the fantastic opportunity to visit the Collection Engineering Open Day in February. The day was a resounding success, offering fascinating insights into the evolution of radial engines, the intricate differences between replicas and restorations, and the immense effort required to keep such a remarkable collection airborne.
It was truly inspiring to witness the dedication, skill, and vast knowledge of the workshop team, whose hard work ensures these historic aircraft continue to fly. As an unexpected treat, we were also treated to an impromptu aerobatic display by a pair of Pitts Biplanes, making the day even more memorable.
A huge thank you to the Shuttleworth Collection for their hospitality and for sharing their passion for aviation with us!
At Halton Aero Club, we regularly organise group visits, land-aways, and insightful presentations covering a wide range of aeronautical topics. Members are always encouraged to take part
—so if you haven't joined us yet, what are you waiting for? ✈️

Had a wonderful social Tuesday at Halton Aero Club in March.
HAC was delighted to have Gwyn Williams share his amazing tale of flying a Concorde supersonic passenger jet in British Airways.
Gwyn was a former ‘fast jet’ pilot with the RAF and saw active service in South Arabia and Canada on Hawker Hunter and F101 aircraft. As a civil pilot, he graduated from turbo-props and business jets to B757 and B777, joined the CAA Flight Operations Department and spent 10 years flying Concorde as the CAA’s Flight Ops and Training Inspector assigned to the Concorde fleet.
