The adventures of Pumpkin continues. Today, Pumpkin found an elf hiding in our Christmas tree.

Pumpkin 🐇 is excited to start the holiday season and is on a festive journey around the setting, today she explored our new Christmas wreath that was gifted to us by one of our lovely families!

It's time to say goodbye, our class has come to an end. we have made more cherished memories and many more friends. We have watched your children learn and grow and change from day to day. We hope that all the things we have done have helped in some small way. So it's with happy memories we send them out the door, with great hope and expectations for what next year holds in store.

Thank you to the children and families we have welcomed through our doors this year, you are all amazing.

Chick update Day 8 and 9

The chicks are thriving.
They are becoming more confident each day and are now starting to jump and flap.
Today we had another visit from foundation stage for cuddles.

The chicks have spent the weekend with a member of staff and her family and while there, they have begun to grow longer white feathers on their wings.
They are really active and very chirpy.🐥

Day 5
Today we could all have cuddles with the chicks, all of us were so excited.
The children spoke about how the chicks felt, what sounds they made and the colour of their feathers.
What a wonderful experience

The sunshine was so wonderful today 🌞
The children had so much fun exploring water, mixing colours, pouring and filling and discovering what could happen when moving the guttering around.
So much fun.

Day 4
Today we walked in to discover that the 3 remaining eggs from yesterday had hatched. We are so excited to have 10 chicks.
We transfered them over into the brooding box where they will stay until next week.
Tomorrow the children will get the chance to hold the chicks.

Chick update day 3

Wow what a wonderful day.
Today we arrived in to see two chicks hatching, we were all so excited to see and hear the chicks. We now have 7 very cute fluffy chicks, we are going on a couple more by tomorrow.

We are pleased to announced that today we had our unannounced food standards visit and we were awarded 5 stars. Well done to the team.

Happy birthday to the kingsbrook preschool manager Terri 🎂 hope you have a lovely day! The children enjoyed singing happy birthday and watching you open your presents :)

It's been 24 hours since our eggs arrived, no sign of hatching yet but the children have had so much fun learning all about the life cycle of a hen.

It's world book day at Aktiva Kingsbrook. We have lots of fun and exciting activities set up based around some of our favourite stories. What are you doing for world book day?

We are continuing to look at our theme 'Awesome animals' last week we looked at what sort of animals you find in the water, this week we are discovering what type of animals live on a farm. The Aktiva farm shop is open!

What a lovely fun week we have had at pre school, looking at sea life, exploring pancake day and adding something new we made into our mud kitchen. So much fun.

A massive thank you to everyone who donated to the Turkey and Syria plea we posted yesterday, it is incredible the generosity you have all shown even though we are going through a living crisis. A massive thank you from us all.

Dear all,

I am sure you have all heard about the devastating news of the mtiple earthquakes in Turkey that have affected many in both Turkey and Syria, so this is our plea to you all.

We are hoping to gather donations of clothes, blankets, coats, nappies, first aid essentials, sanitary products and anything else that you feel could help benefit the people of Turkey and Syria in the awful time, we are hopi g to get as many donations as possible today and tomorrow, so we are able to drop them off to be forwarded on to those in need.

If you can spare anything at all then please think of those in need at the moment.

A box will be kept outside for today and tomorrow.

Before, during and after.
What great fun the children had today showing strength with gross motor movements using the potato mashers.
The children have been showing lots of interest in superheros recently and when we asked them what they wanted in the tuff tray many responded with activities that seem to mention a superhero, so the staff planned a wonderful activity based off the children's interests.

Continuing with our 'People who help us' topic today we had a visit from two Nurses, the children had such a wonderful time exploring various equipment especially the bandages. years

One of our wonderful parents donated this lovely doll house that still had so much life in it.
We have been on the lookout for a new bookshelf when we had the idea to upcycle the dolls house.
We now have a beautiful bookshelf for the children to enjoy.

What an exciting day at pre school we had today.
Recently the children at Aktiva Nurseries at Kingsbrook View Primary Academy have been learning all about people who help us so today we had a visit from two Police officers, they had a chat with children about how they help us and the children asked lots of questions.
They then got a chance to sit in a police car and even press buttons.

We are pleased to introduce you all to a new member of the Aktiva family.

He is our new take home Bear 🐻
Ben Bear loves to join the Aktiva children on their travels and have lots of fun, he especially enjoys cuddles.
The children can share with their peers the wonderful adventures that they may have been on together.

Today we participated in Santa Dash raising money for Florence Nightingale Hospice charity, the children started by decorating santa hats and then they ran 27 laps each totalling a huge 756 laps.
We also had a special visit from Florey the bear 🐻

What a wonderful first day back we have had with a Halloween theme, the children have explored playdough with natural resources with a focus on developing language, the children had been finding spiders and numbers in cobwebs and have been developing fine motor skills by pulling them out with tweezers, we also showed our creative side by stamping Halloween pictures and having our faces painted. Lots of Halloween fun 🎃 🦇

For breast cancer awareness month today at Aktiva Nurseries at Kingsbrook View we are taking part in Wear it pink 2022 to raise awareness.
