A top pass Claire on Christmas Eve , eve with zero faults . Well done !

The clocks are changing this weekend, and as we head to winter, weather will be getting worse! Here are some top tips for driving in poor visibility:

1 - Regularly check that all your vehicle lights are clean and working - and use them!! Fog lights can help you be seen in fog, heavy rain of snow BUT remember to switch them off when visibility improves so you don't dazzle other drivers!

2 - Keep your vehicle’s windows and mirrors clean - don’t forget that cleaning the inside of the window is as important as the outside. If you wear glasses, you should make sure these are also clean so you can see through them properly!

3 - Carry a hi-vis vest/jacket and wear it if you need to get out of the vehicle in the dark. You might think it will never happen to you, but you never know when you may break down or need to pull over. If that happens, you need to keep yourself safe - be bright, be seen!

4 - Finally, don't take any risks; if visibility is poor, slow down. Better to get somewhere late than not at all.

Well Done Karla , a long COVID slog but the great result that you deserve.

Faking an MOT test isn’t just committing fraud, it can also endanger other road users by allowing what could be an unsafe vehicle onto the road 🚗

Within the last year we investigated over 2,057 fraud reports which resulted in stopping 156 garages and 335 testers from testing ✋

If you have any information about MOT garages issuing fraudulent MOT certificates you can report it in confidence here 👇

Practising for your driving test?

1️⃣ The number 1 reason learner drivers fail their test is by not making effective observations at junctions 😱

➡ Are you confident judging the speed of an approaching vehicle?

It’s important when pulling out you don’t cause others to have to slow down or take action to avoid you.

➡ Looking too late? ⏰

You must properly check your surroundings before moving out of junction to make effective observations.

A brilliant effort Junaid & well deserved 1st time pass.

2nd post lockdown test & 2nd great pass . Well done Vicki , you deserve it !

When passing a cyclist, make sure you are giving them enough space - around 1.5m is the appropriate amount.

As a cyclist, make sure you are aware of your surroundings and make yourself as visible as possible.
