What an amazing last week we had at Wise Owls. We had drama tots, a visit from Lyme regis coastguard, tried the fruits and vegetables we have grown and our little Owls grown ups joined us for a leavers breakfast. Friday was an emotional day as we said goodbye to our little Owls who are leaving for school. But we will see you all over the fence at big school and can't wait to see you looking all smart on your first day in september. We also said a sad see you soon to Laura who has been working with us this year. She has been incredible and will be greatly missed but hopefully she will pop in for a cuppa soon! We will look forward to welcoming children back on 7th of september and some new little Owls will be joining us too! Have a wonderful summer everyone. 🌞❤️🦉

Wow! What an incredible Family Fun day we had on Saturday! The sun was shinning and here are some big thank you shout outs to: Deano Music and Drama Tots East Devon and Exeter for music and entertainment. Thank you Churchy's Castles for hire of the thoroughly enjoyed bouncy castle and Jurassic Ice Cream & Desserts for delicious ice cream treats to cool us down. Thank you to our committee and friends for help and support. The activities and face paints were amazing! Thank you All Saints Parish Council for hire of the venue it was perfect! ☀️

In forest school this week we made boats and then tested them on the water to see if they would float or sink. We then went and made a few changes to them to make them bigger or make them able to float. We have experimented with bubble painting this week and we really enjoyed going on a pet adventure in drama tots 🐶🐰🐱 🦉❤️

We had a really lovely last week of half term. We had gymnastics with Emma from Axminster gymnastics and drama tots with Natalie. In forest school we made flags using hammers and leaves. We celebrated World bee day and enjoyed learning all about them and we have been talking alot about feelings. We can not believe we are in the last half term of the school year already and it's set to be super fun and busy! 😃❤️🦉

This week we have had 13 of our eggs hatch. The chick's are so cute and we are loving learning how to look after them. Natalie from drama tots took us on an adventure all about friendship and we learned all about fire safety and toasted marshmallows in forest school. We made our own chicken pictures using scissors and we have been outside as much as we can. 🐣🐥❤️🦉

Mental Health Awareness Week is a reminder that no young person should ever feel like they have to struggle alone.

As facilitators of peer support groups, we see every week just how powerful community can be. When young people come together in safe, supportive spaces, something amazing happens, walls come down, conversations open up, and people realise they are not the only ones feeling the way they do.

Mental health challenges can often feel isolating, especially for young people navigating pressure, anxiety, low mood, identity, relationships, or simply the weight of growing up in today’s world. But peer support groups create connection, understanding, and belonging. They give young people the chance to share experiences, support one another, and build confidence together.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, we want to celebrate the courage it takes to speak up, the importance of listening without judgement, and the incredible strength found in community.

By bringing young people together, we not only help them tackle struggles side by side. We also help break down the stigma surrounding mental health. Every conversation matters. Every shared experience matters. Every young person deserves to feel heard, valued, and supported.

Let’s continue creating spaces where young people know it’s okay to talk, okay to ask for help, and okay not to be okay.

Because awareness leads to understanding, and understanding leads to change. 💚
