We are delighted to announce that we have achieved the School Games Platinum Mark Award for the 2025/26 academic year. The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success. A special thanks to all of our pupils, parents, staff and the wider community for your support and enthusiasm regarding all aspects of school sport. We are pleased and proud that our hard work has been rewarded with the highest level this year.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

RED NOSE DAY!

We celebrated Red Nose Day with a non-uniform day with a Red theme! Our play leaders organised some fantastic activities for lunchtime - we had playground races, dance competitions, supersize skipping, and some fantastic Red Nose designs and puzzles.

What a fabulous day raising £109 for Comic Relief!

British Science week:
Owls have been learning about states of matter in Science. They have investigated the terms evaporation, condensation and precipitation through the water cycle.
They created a scene on a bag, filled it with some blue water and then stuck them on the window to watched what happened when the sun heated them up.
They also observed evaporation and condensation through a glass beaker using hot water, cling film and ice.

British Science Week:
In Squirrels class we learnt that some sharks continue growing as they age and that you can predict their age based upon their length. The oldest ever recorded was 392 years! We then measured our height and calculated our age in months. We created a class graph to compare our height to age. We found that the older members of the class were taller on average but that we found there were some students that didn't follow this trend. When we added Mr Evans to our chart he was off the scale as he was waaaay too old!

We have also been learning about types of plants and leaves this term. We went on a nature hunt and used a 'sticky strip' to collect lots of different leaves and seeds. We returned to the classroom and identified them using an ID sheet.

During British Science Week last week , Mrs Coles visited Hedgehog class for an exciting hands-on science session! The children explored capillary action with coloured water, made balloons inflate with vinegar and baking powder, investigated Skittles dissolving and creating rainbow patterns, and saw density in action with eggs floating between layers of liquids. The session finished with a show-and-tell of butterflies, bird nests, shells, and more. The children were fascinated, curious, and loved exploring science in action!

Yesterday's World Book Day was a wonderful day full of costumes, reading, smiles and fun! 📚📖🌟

A MASSIVE thank you to our volunteers for enabling us to make the day extra special for the children. Our reading volunteers, Open the Book team, teachers and TA's all shared their favourite stories with the pupils.
In the afternoon, Mr Whitehead ran a story telling worship, and this was followed by buddy reading and a hot chocolate treat for the children too.

Thank you to Friends of St Andrew's for supplying the Hot Chocolate and biscuits.😋

The children in Foxes class have been raising money for charity by creating their own games and stalls. The children and parents enjoyed games such as: pin the tail on the bunny, name the teddy and lucky dip!

The charities chosen by the children were the RSPCA and Save the children.
Today the children were able to present a Cheque for £89.60 to a representative from RSPCA, West Hatch who spoke to the children about the work the RSPCA carry out and how grateful they are for any fundraising donations.
