The Bank of Dreams and Nightmares shares their visit to Musbury Primary School:
SAVE YOURSELF!
Working with pupils from Musbury Primary School is always fun, and this time around it turned out to be extra exciting! We were expecting our Bank Manager to come with us, but sadly they weren’t able to make it. The class were disappointed that they weren’t able to come and visit them, of course, but when they discovered that the Manager was stuck in a serious predicament, the children from Class 2 rose to the occasion and offered to help. Then we set about writing a clear set of instructions to free our Manager and get him out of a very sticky situation!

Having done that, the pupils were on a roll, and so we got them to write more instructions to help people survive even more dangerous or downright ridiculous situations. Supported by our team, the class wrote careful, considered instructions for how to survive everything from a Zombie Apocalypse to an overly scratchy kitten. From how to survive falling down a waterfall, to how to win at darts, this truly is the ultimate survival guide.

World Book Week 2026 - The whole school has had a fabulous week celebrating books and reading. Class 1 have had a different story themed tuff tray each day, including The Chicken and the Worm and the Very Hungry Caterpillar which they have loved exploring. Class 2 had a visit from The Bank of Dreams and Nightmares who helped them write survival guides to rescue the Bank Manager from a deep hole!

Last week, both Class 1 and Class 2 went on trips. Class 1 visited Tiverton Museum to investigate toys and games from the past and Class 2 went to Axminster Heritage Centre to learn about World War 2 in our local area. Many thanks to all who made these trips possible.

Grounds Week, Day 2: The whole school and nursery had a great time on Tuesday afternoon rolling their pumpkins down the slope to see whose could go furthest. This was followed by some excellent work clearing leaves, weeding and planting some bulbs. Many thanks to Axminster Tesco Community Team for donating the pumpkins to school. Names were drawn from a hat today and the children chosen went home with a pumpkin to carve, decorate or even enjoy in a delicious recipe.

Grounds Week, Day 1: The school enjoyed a local walk, identifying trees and observing planting and land use, after an assembly based on a Woodland Trust story on the importance of trees and green spaces on our health and wellbeing. We discovered there are lots of oak trees in our locality. 😀

The children of Class One got out in their local community last week as part of their Geography and English learning. Class One are 'mapping it out' like Martha from our text, 'Martha Maps it Out'. A huge thank you to our tour guides who gave us lots of local information and some behind the scenes access. We just can't wait to get back into the classroom and create our very own maps of Musbury.
