🍎Fancy doing some fundraising for the school but can’t be bothered with attending meetings?? 🍎

We are setting up a sub-committee that’s full focus is on raising money for Auchinleck Primary and ECC benefitting your children directly.

Already fundraising has gone to brining down the cost of the pantomime trip at Christmas 🎄 and giving the pupils some delicious goodies to eat at the Cosy Christmas afternoon.

Anybody interested in joining the committee please DM the page with your name and number. 🙏

Auchinleck Primary Praised Following Education Scotland Inspection

Auchinleck Primary School and Early Childhood Centre has been commended in a newly published inspection report by Education Scotland.

Inspectors from His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Education spent a week at the school in January, observing lessons, meeting staff and speaking with pupils. Their findings, released on Tuesday 3 March, highlight a number of strengths across both the primary school and nursery.

Among the key positives identified were the collective responsibility and commitment to continuous improvement shown by staff, a calm learning environment that allows children to thrive, and a caring, nurturing ethos built on highly positive relationships. Inspectors described pupils as happy, polite, respectful and welcoming.

Headteacher Lee McPhail was recognised for providing effective leadership and clear direction, while the wider staff team was praised for working closely together through clearly defined leadership roles.

To mark the publication of the report, Councillor Elaine Cowan, Spokesperson for Education and Children and Young People, visited the school alongside local members Councillor Linda Mabon, Councillor William Lennox and Councillor Alyson Simmons, as well as Assistant Director of Education Graham McGinn.

Councillor Cowan said she was pleased to congratulate Mr McPhail and his team on the positive outcome.

“From speaking to the teaching and support staff, and to the children about the inspection, it is clear that everyone is very proud of their school and their report,” she said.

She added that she was particularly encouraged by the inspectors’ recognition of the consistent and creative approaches to teaching and curriculum delivery that support children’s learning effectively, something she said was evident during her visit.

Mr McPhail described the inspection as a valuable experience for the whole school community.

“The inspectors joined us for a week in January and took part in all aspects of school life. The children played an important role in the process, meeting and speaking with the inspectors,” he said.

He welcomed the acknowledgement of the respectful relationships between staff and pupils, noting that the school’s values are central to its success.

“Our school values underpin everything we do. We are focused on providing learning experiences that are fun, relevant and challenging, while creating a safe, happy and caring environment where everyone is treated with respect and supported to achieve their individual goals,” he said.

He also highlighted the school’s ongoing commitment to working closely with families, particularly in improving attendance, ensuring children are present and engaged whenever possible.

Describing the inspection as positive and productive, Mr McPhail said the school now looks forward to continuing its work with Education and Skills Services to build on its strengths and address areas identified for further development.

📚⭐️ COMING SOON ⭐📚

We have some exciting news…. Very soon we will be setting up our own school library! This is through funding we have been given by the Libraries for Primaries programme and means we will have our very own fully stocked library within the school building. There is lots going on behind the scenes as staff attend training and we gather the views of our school community.

📚✏️HMIe Inspection✏️📚

The chair of the Parent Council will be meeting with HMIe to put across the parents/carers perspective of both the school and nursery.

To be able to do this we are looking for parent/carers to share their thoughts, opinions and experiences about the school/nursery. This could include any particular strength or positive experiences you have had or anything you feel the school/nursery could improve upon.

If you could email any responses to [email protected] by Monday 19th January it would greatly be appreciated.

Thank you ☺️
