We are so excited to see all of our children back at school today.

Breakfast club is on as normal at 8.15am and the school day begins at 9am.

We appreciate that some children may require support this morning as we start a new school session and return to the routines and new classrooms and new teachers. Don’t worry - we work with this every year, we will take things as your child needs them.

Staff will validate your child’s feelings as being normal and help them through this.

We know that parents and carers can feel anxious and nervous too - we know it is hard. Please try to make sure your feelings don’t affect your child’s. Approach the morning with positivity.

It might help to meet a friend after the morning drop off to look after yourself and talk about how you feel.

Your children will be excited to see you when the school day ends.

Reminder:
New P1s - staggered start times dependent on house colour. Your information pack contains this information. For today only then 9am.

New P1s - collection at 2.30pm today, Then 3pm,

🎒 Back to School Prayer 🎒

Dear Lord,

As a new school year begins, we lift up our pupils and families after the rest and renewal of the summer holidays.

We place this year into the hands of our patron, Saint Patrick, and Saint Joseph, the patron saint of our education group. Guided by their examples of courage and faithful service, fill our classrooms with kindness, curiosity, and love.

We welcome with great joy our new Primary One pupils joining us for their very first day. Guard their steps, calm any nerves, and let their hearts be filled with excitement as they begin this wonderful journey of learning and friendship.

We ask Your blessings upon our parish communities: Our Lady of Lourdes and Saint Patrick, Saint Thomas the Apostle, and Saint John the Evangelist. Knit us together as a family of faith, supporting our children as they grow in knowledge and grace.

We hold a special place in our hearts for the transitions of this season. We pray for our former pupils moving on to secondary education, for those families who have moved to new schools, and for the staff members who have moved on to new communities. May they carry the fond memories of their time here into their next adventures.

Through the intercession of our patron saints, surround them with welcoming faces, grant them confidence, and help them to thrive in their new surroundings.

Amen. 🙏

Yesterday we celebrated the end of the school session with our Thanksgiving Mass at St John the Evangelist, Cumnock. R.C.Cumnock

We pride ourselves on serving three parishes and ensure we visit each one throughout the school session. Our parishes are a great support to the life and ethos of our school.

We are thankful for all the experiences this school year has provided, thankful for every single one of our children and their families and thankful for the most wonderful staff team.

We also send a massive thank you to the parishioners in Cumnock for welcoming us to your hall for drinks and snacks. It is really appreciated.

Yesterday saw us celebrate Fr Philip’s final official Mass as School Chaplain as he prepares for retirement in July. Our Catholic faith is at the heart of everything we do and Fr Philip has been the anchor of that faith. He has guided our children through the sacraments of Baptism, reconciliation, First Holy Communions and Confirmations.

Fr Philip has brought the joy of the Gospel into our school and classrooms and comforted us during difficult times. His wisdom, patience and love of learning have left a lasting mark on all our hearts.

We know that Fr Philip will continue to visit us frequently and we look forward to those times.

Thank You to all who contributed to Fr Philip’s gift on behalf of our children and their families.

There was no better way to finish off a special occasion than to have a play in the church gardens.

THANK YOU Fr Philip we will miss you!
