ATTLEBOROUGH PRIMARY SCHOOL
Have you ever thought of becoming a school governor?
We are building a term of governors who possess a diverse range of skills, experiences, qualifications, characteristics and perspectives, and who come from different backgrounds and settings. We have governor vacancies at Attleborough Primary School and we would love you to join us!
Are you keen to support the education of the youngest members of our local community? Are you able to share your skills with a board of like-minded individuals, including staff members, parent governors, education leaders and local residents?
We generally hold one meeting each month, to discuss areas such as Teaching & Learning, Child Protection, Finance and Human Resources. At the moment, due to COVID-19, the meetings are held virtually.
Don’t worry if you have no experience of being a governor, training is available to all our governors with support from the Chair and the whole governing board. Further, you don’t have to have knowledge of the education system – just skills, attitude and time to contribute.
Are you ready to make a real difference in the community and improve the lives of local children? We would love to hear from you!
Please contact the Chair of Governors, Will Betts or the Vice Chair of Governors, Heather Etteridge via the school Office to the school if you are interested.

Following a meeting with head teachers and County representatives Attleborough Primary School will be unable to open to all children from the 6th January due to insufficient staffing levels, which means that we will be unable to ensure the safety of our children.
It is our intention to partially re-open to those children of Key Workers and vulnerable pupils from Wednesday 6th January and to provide remote learning to the rest of the children. It is with regret that I am informing you of my decision to not reopen to all pupils as planned and stated in an earlier letter.
Please see website for new letter detailing further information.
I hope that you understand what a difficult decision this has been but the most important aspect is to keep our community safe.
While we understand that this is a challenging time for all, we will still offer as much support as we can. We will be reviewing the situation on a daily basis and update you about whether the school is likely to reopen fully or not on a weekly basis.
[01/03/21] We are so very sorry to have to let you know with such short notice that the Chair of Governors and Mrs Long have taken the decision to close Attleborough Primary School on Monday 4th Jan and Tuesday 5th January 2021 to allow for boiler work to be completed. With the weather being so cold and therefore the building also being cold, it will be impossible to heat the building to the required temperature to keep everyone warm and safe. Again, please accept my apologies for any disruption that this will cause. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. Please see full letter on website.
This Friday is Children In Need. We usually have a fun packed day with events that involve the whole school. As we cannot do that this year because of the restrictions in school, children may wear school uniform with one spotty item (eg t-shirt or socks) to school on Friday & pay £1 towards the children in need charity. We do not expect parents to buy new items for children to wear - you could simply cut out spots and attach them to an old t-shirt.

[12/12/18] A really big 'Thank you' to everyone for all the kind donations of food items for our Reverse Advent Calendar - there's still time to donate and we'd really love some non-food items as well eg: deodrant, toilet paper, shower gel, shampoo, soap, toothbrushes/toothpaste, laundry powder, washing up liquid, baby food or baby wipes.
We are having a raffle here at APS to raise funds for our Reception play area - if you would like to purchase tickets, please visit the school office. For prizes please see photos below.
We are planning to have a Reverse Advent Calendar in each class to donate to local foodbanks. The principle is that every day an item is added to the box and at the end of term we donate the contents to a local foodbank. Donations will be collected from Monday 3rd to Monday 17th December. Therefore we would be grateful if either a tin or a box of food or any packaged foodstuffs, in date and suitable for a family to enjoy over the
Christmas period on any of those days could be brought to the school office.
[11/14/18] We have found a bank card on our school playground-please contact the school office if you think it may be yours.
