But just what is EWI?

EWI (External Wall Insulation) is a highly effective property refurbishment process that involves wrapping a building's exterior in an insulating envelope to dramatically improve its energy efficiency, protect its structure, and modernise its appearance.

EWI typically works by fixing specialised insulation boards to the outside face of the property's walls using structural adhesives and mechanical fixings. This layer is reinforced with mesh and a base coat before being topped with a weather-resistant, decorative render or cladding.
