National Thank A Teacher Day - Thank a Teacher 17/06/2026

Today is National Thank a Teacher Day!

As Headteacher, I would like to take a moment to recognise and thank our great team of teachers for their unwavering dedication and hard work.

Every day, they go above and beyond to provide a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment for your children. Their commitment to supporting each pupil, both academically and personally, makes a lasting difference and helps our school community to thrive.
We are truly fortunate to have such passionate and caring professionals working with our children. I know you will join me in showing appreciation for all they do.

Thank you to all our staff for their continued commitment and excellence.

Surprise!

On Saturday morning Mrs Blackledge went to Haigh Hall Parkrun with her friends. In the trees she found this book.

On the front was a little label that said please take this book as a gift from Haigh.

The Reception children unwrapped the book and plan to read it all together.

What a lovely treat! Thank you Haigh Woodland Park 🌳

We couldn't be prouder of our Year 5 School Council Representatives who were invited to contribute to a memorial ceremony on Anne Frank's birthday. They gave messages of hope and donated 6 purple pots full of flowers to brighten up the garden at Stubshaw Cross Park. Thank you to Jean for inviting us to this special occasion, attended by local councillors, the Mayor of Wigan and the head of Wigan Council.

🌟 Reception are blooming with success! 🌟

This week, they made it into our school newsletter thanks to their fantastic learning about plants. 🌱🌼

The children have been busy planting, watering, and caring for their very own sunflowers, helping them grow bigger and taller every day! πŸŒ»πŸ’§β˜€οΈ

Now for the big question... πŸ€”

🌻 **Who will grow the tallest sunflower?** 🌻

The sunflower challenge is on, and we can't wait to see whose sunflower reaches for the sky! Watch this space for updates... πŸŒžπŸ“
