Hi all. I know the club is closed, but I'm raising money for Wigan and Leigh Hospice. In 10 days in taking on a Double Ironman Distance triathlon (4.8 mile swim, 230 mile bike and 2 Marathons) all in 42 hours. I'm doing it with the Leigh Leopards in Lycra, but even you Wigan and St's fans could need the Hospice. There's in advance.

Superb final grading. They all took their one and only chance. Great work. I'm proud to have been your sensei and long may you continue to thrive in whatever you do in life. Win or lose. Never give up. Keep pushing and improving yourself and others around you.
Today's Dan grading will be the club's final grading. You've got one chance. You've trained hard, don't blow it by trying to coast through it. Work hard all the way through. You can rest later. Good luck.
It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce that Rising Sun Karate will be closing. I have a new role at work that will make teaching karate difficult and irregular. It's been a magnificent 17 years with lots of highs, but I have to close. I've turned down other jobs so I can keep the karate club open, but this new role I cannot turn down. You won't know that this club has got me through some difficult times, financial and mental which makes my decision even harder. The last class will be 31st May. I'll plan some exciting classes for the final month, but the Dan graders will stay concentrating on syllabus techniques until their grading. Any old members that want to come and have a final class are welcome.
Sorry. I'll have to cancel tonight. Looks like the traffic is bad in Ashton. I'm stuck on the edge of Bamfurlong and only moved 50 metres in the last 5 minutes.
