The RootED pilot programme provided vital one-to-one mentoring across three secondary schools to young people at risk of school exclusion in Ellesmere Port.

One of the young people who participated said:

"They help you a lot with what you’re struggling with, and if you need help, they’re right there with you. I think the reason my confidence is so big is because of Power2."

🚴 One of our trustees Troels Henriksen took on an extraordinary cycling challenge across Africa on a Brompton fold-up bike in support of Power2.

Over the course of the journey, Troels cycled 3,000 km and climbed more than 20,000 metres.

A huge thank you to Troels, the distance you’ve travelled will help more young people discover what they're capable of, build confidence in themselves and create brighter futures.

On , we're celebrating the connections that help young people grow in confidence and believe in themselves.

When Eser and Oliver, aged 14, were referred to Power2 Thrive they were quite shy and found it hard to open up to others. Eser was getting a lot of detentions at school and Oliver was struggling with his attendance.

Although they attended the same school, they had never spoken before joining the programme.

Their Programme Lead watched their friendship grow over the weeks:

"I watched them gradually draw each other out of their shells. They built a real friendship, and as it developed, they became more confident, assertive and self-assured."

Eser and Oliver’s school have seen huge improvements in their independence and enthusiasm for learning.

Watch Eser and Oliver share their story on stage at our 2025 London graduation ceremony 💚

We recently received some lovely feedback from the school staff at St Anthony’s Catholic Primary School about our Power2 Energise programme.

“The young people interacted very well with the children. It was clearly visible that some of the younger children could be a little shy, yet they definitely came out of their shell and enjoyed being around the young people. It was definitely a wonderful experience for everyone.”

Before joining Teens and Toddlers, Laura had low confidence and was struggling to connect with her peers. She needed some support in expressing herself to others.

On the programme, Laura was paired with a lively toddler mentee. With guidance, she began developing her communication and observation skills, learning different ways to interact with her mentee.

A few weeks in, there was a turning point when Laura started a game of ‘What’s the time Mr Wolf?’ with her mentee and soon had the other nursery children joining in too.

From there, Laura’s confidence continued to grow. She began sharing her opinions and building new friendships with her peers in the group.

Laura even spoke on stage in front of a big audience at our 2025 North West Graduation Ceremony – you can watch the video below.

A huge well done to Laura!
