What a brilliant girls cricket competition we have had today over at Denton Cricket Club with Cheshire Cricket Board & Lancashire Cricket with over 60 girls taking part in a quest to become champions.

What a brilliant ‘Girls Inspire’ action sports festival today at Graystones.

10 teams from Tameside joined up with 10 teams from Salford for a day full of fun, learning, confidence building & inspiration!

We heard from professional skater - Jess- about what it’s like to be a female in a skateboarding world. And also tried out trampolining, bouldering, scootering and skateboarding.

An amazing day!

What an amazing cup finals we have had tonight for the Tameside Schools FA competition.

Hosted by Hyde United FC, we have tried to give the players an amazing experience- pennants, programmes and a quality pitch.

The small schools Stonehewer Cup was won by St Raphael’s in a close match with Buckton Vale.

The large schools Toone Cup was won by Greenside primary in what was another great match vs Greswell primary.

Well done to all teams, coaches, teachers and spectators for impeccable behaviour and respect.

The teams will now be presented their trophy on the pitch at half time by Manchester FA in the Women’s county cup at Ashton United on Wednesday.

It was the turn of the high five netball finals yesterday with 7 teams qualifying and competing in a mini league to become Tameside champions.

With some high level play and tense matches, we worked through the rounds with the brilliant young leaders from Denton Community Academy supporting the officiating.

In the end it was Greswell primary from Denton who were crowned champions!

Great afternoon with Lancashire Cricket Cheshire Cricket Board at Hyde Cricket & Squash Club.

4 teams took part in ‘diamond’ cricket playing against each other and then integrating the teams for a fun play off at the end.

Such fun, so many skills and everyone loving the cricket!

An amazing standard tonight for Tameside Basketball Primary finals 🤩🏀

9 teams battled it out in league fixtures to try and qualify for the semi finals (teams qualified Q):

Gorse Hall (Q), Yew Tree, Greenside (Q), Milton St John’s, Dixons Silver Springs (Q), St Mary’s RC Denton (Q), St Mary’s CE & Dowson.

Some brilliant goals, excellent defending, competitive play and lots of fun!

Tonight we hosted our first ever 3 v 3 basketball festival and it was amazing!

We invited y3/4 teams along to Dixons Ashton Academy to have a go at this fast paced sport. The children learnt as they played and soon became familiar with how the game is played. Plenty of touches and plenty of goals!

The plan is to do more 3 v 3 🏀

Can’t wait for our next event!

A brilliant Lacrosse primary event tonight at Dixons Ashton Academy supported by England Lacrosse.

8 teams took part with Greenside, Canon Burrows and Oakfield in the finals.

First up- a y10/11 football tournament at MUFC watching a Tameside school win- well done All Saints 👏👏

4 school visits by Ash Randall- an amazing football freestyler - showing us his award winning skills. ⚽️

Many schools across the borough organising lessons about writing a letter to a lioness, devising football poetry and fun footy sessions for ‘Made for this Game’ day.

A brilliant ET7 community session at Dixons Ashton Academy with 15 girls.

And then finally, months in the making, our y7 town team trials at Man City!
