Fashion and Textiles students recently hosted a charity fashion show and sample sale for the second year running, this time raising a stunning £820 for Willow Wood Hospice. An astonishing amount! 👏👠

Students from the Level 3 course organised the event for staff and students, which used clothes kindly donated by fashion brand Pretty Little Thing as part of the show and also the clothing sale.

The fashion show allowed students to gain vital experience of planning and executing this type of event, whilst also raising vital funds for a charity close to many local people's hearts.

Recently A-level Psychology students visited Kraków in Poland, to better understand the psychological context of the Second World War and the Holocaust.

During the visit, students toured the Jewish Ghetto, the Jewish Museum and Auschwitz-Birkenau and heard powerful testimony from a Holocaust survivor, which was highly moving.

The trip supported their study of social influence, helping them to see the real world impact of authority and majority pressure. Something that will likely stay with them far beyond the classroom.

A massive well done to Animation student Aaliyah for winning first prize in a global art competition for the critically acclaimed game Baldur’s Gate 3! 🎨✨

Launched in December by game voice actors Emma Gregory and Andrew Wincott, the competition challenged artists to respond to the theme 'Frostfallen Foes: The Villains of Winter’s Night.'

Aaliyah used the competition as a live brief to develop her concept art skills. Her winning piece reimagined a festive sleigh scene, featuring characters from the game.

For her efforts she received a personal congratulatory video from Emma Gregory. Very well done, Aaliyah!
