Aspirations

Yesterday the learners in Sandwich Shop hosted a Sandwich and Social event and invited their parents/carers to come in and see the skills that they have been developing over the past months. The learners put in a lot of effort and made the event very special.

Today learners in the Community Group went to Portland Basin to see what things were like in 'The Olden Days'

Today we had the fantastic opportunity of attending the GMC Skills competition. Ten learners represented Aspirations as they wowed the judges, telling them all about the hard work everyone has done with our tulip project.

A massive congratulations to the learners who represented us at the event, as well as everyone in Aspirations who worked so hard to make it happen!

Each learner who came today won a £10 amazon gift voucher which they have been given.

We will be hosting GMC skills next year!

On Friday the learners in bakeoff made Mothers Day cupcakes, for this they had to learn a new skill of making buttercream and piping. They all did amazing. I hope all their mums enjoyed their cakes.

Students celebrated international women's day by learning about suffragettes and making their own votes for women sashes!

These past few weeks Aspirations have been working towards the GMC Skills competition. Learners have made tulip themed items based on the community tradition and celebration linked to tulip displays in our borough's parks.
Enterprise have done a brilliant job of organising and manning the stall, showing off their great maths and money skills as they sold items to the college.
Well done everyone involved!

Aspirations A got the chance to visit the Apprenticeship Fair this week! Learners tried hairdressing, bricklaying, and got some fabulous freebies.

This week, Tameside College is celebrating LGBTQ+ Week.

One communication class visited our iHub to view the LGBT+ Exhibition. We learned about LGBT+ history and famous LGBT+ figures
