As another wonderful year comes to an end, we’d like to take a moment to reflect on all of the amazing memories we’ve made together.
We’ve had a fantastic year filled with exciting activities, lots of laughter, singing, dancing, messy play, outdoor adventures, and so much more.
It has been a privilege to watch each and every child grow in confidence, develop new skills, and build such lovely friendships. We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved this year and of the wonderful little people they are becoming.
We would also like to say a heartfelt thank you to all of our families for your continued support throughout the year. Thank you for joining us at our Stay and Play sessions, performances, and special events, and for working alongside us to support your wonderful children. Your encouragement and partnership mean so much to us.
Thank you also for all of the thoughtful cards, flowers and lovely gifts. Your kindness and generosity are greatly appreciated, and we’re so grateful for each and every one of our amazing families.
We really do have some amazing parents.
We hope you all have a fantastic summer filled with fun, laughter, and precious family time. Stay safe, make lots of wonderful memories, and we can’t wait to see all of our little Superstars back in September, ready for another exciting year together at Sandra’s Superstars! 💛🌟
Finally, we’d like to say a very special goodbye to Aidan as he leaves Sandra’s Superstars Childcare.
Aidan has been such a big part of our Superstars family, and it has been a pleasure to watch him grow, learn, and flourish during his time with us. We will all miss his smile, personality, and the joy he has brought to our setting, especially his big rooaaarrr and putting his hand out for ‘round and round the garden’ 🖐🏼 🐻
Although we’re sad to see him go, we hope this isn’t goodbye forever, and that we’ll have the pleasure of seeing you all again in the future… perhaps even next year! 🤞🏼💛
From all of us at Sandra’s Superstars Childcare, thank you for allowing us to be part of your family’s journey. We wish you all the very best for the future. 🌟🥰❤️

⚽️🏆 Sports Stay & Play Fun at Sandra’s Superstars Childcare 🏆⚽️
We had a fantastic day at our Sports Themed Stay & Play last week, celebrating sport and linking some of our activities to the excitement of the World Cup 2026. It was wonderful to welcome so many of our families, and we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along and joined in the fun!
The children enjoyed a wide variety of outdoor activities that encouraged them to be active, work together and develop new skills. Our football themed tuff tray was a big hit, where the children explored coloured rice, used scoops to fill containers and counted numbered footballs. They also had great fun in the ball pit, playing croquet, practising their football skills, balancing on the stepping stones, climbing, bouncing on the trampoline, using the pogo block, and taking turns throwing bean bags into hoops to develop their aim and coordination. To keep cool in the warm weather, the children enjoyed splashing in the water tray and using their imaginations in our ever-popular mud kitchen.
Inside, there were plenty more exciting opportunities to explore. The children enjoyed painting colourful pictures, matching dinosaur figures, investigating our volcano tuff tray, and becoming little palaeontologists as they dug for dinosaur fossils and bones. These activities encouraged curiosity, problem-solving and imaginative play while supporting their growing knowledge of the world around them.
It was lovely to see the children proudly showing their families the activities they enjoy each day at Sandra’s Superstars Childcare. Seeing everyone learning, laughing and playing together made the afternoon extra special, and we hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did!

🌞🥵 What a hot week we’ve had here at Sandra’s Superstars Childcare! 🥵🌞
It’s certainly been a long, hot week for both the children and the adults! With the temperatures soaring, we made sure everyone stayed as cool and comfortable as possible. 💦
To beat the heat, we enjoyed lots of water play outdoors in the shade during the mornings, as it became far too hot to be outside in the afternoons. The children had so much fun splashing in the water trays, sitting in the cool water and exploring with cups, jugs and containers. They loved pouring, filling, emptying and mixing the water, while developing their curiosity and problem-solving skills. We also added music and bubbles, creating a calm, sensory-rich environment that everyone thoroughly enjoyed. 🫧🎶
The children also had great fun bathing the baby dolls, washing them carefully and drying them afterwards, encouraging nurturing play and developing their imagination and understanding of caring for others. 👶🛁
Inside, we continued our exciting dinosaur 🦖🦕 theme! The children have loved listening to dinosaur stories, joining in with dinosaur songs, practising their counting and colour matching, and using their imaginations as they stomped, roared and moved just like dinosaurs. There were lots of giggles as everyone transformed into their favourite prehistoric creatures!

At Sandra’s Superstars Childcare we have also been making the most of the lovely weather outdoors. The children have enjoyed digging and building in the sand, riding on the ride on toys, and exploring the garden. Outdoor play helps to develop gross motor skills, balance, coordination, confidence, and physical strength.
We have also enjoyed spending time outdoors, where the children had lots of fun playing in the sand, digging, and riding on the ride-on toys. One highlight was watching our gardener cut the grass. The children were fascinated as they observed the lawnmower at work and enjoyed talking about what the gardener was doing. This provided a wonderful opportunity for discussion, encouraging curiosity, observation skills, and an understanding of the world around them. Outdoor play continues to support the children’s gross motor development, balance, coordination, confidence, and physical strength. 🌱🚜
As it was Father’s Day this week, the children have also been busy creating some special crafts for their daddies. They worked hard on their gifts and were very proud of what they had made. Apologies if they came home a little messy there was lots of blue paint involved, and at one point we had a group of little Smurfs on our hands! 🤣💙

Sorry for the update silence! We’ve had a very busy few weeks here at Sandra’s Superstars Childcare.
Our current topic has been Dinosaurs 🦖🦕, and the children have had lots of fun exploring and learning through a variety of dinosaur themed activities. They have enjoyed talking about dinosaurs, learning new words, and pretending to stomp and “RRROOOAAARR!” just like their favourite prehistoric creatures. The children loved using their imaginations and roaring as loudly as they could!
We have been developing our sorting and matching skills by grouping dinosaurs by colour and using tweezers to carefully pick them up and place them into the corresponding coloured bowls. This activity supported the children’s fine motor development, hand-eye coordination, concentration, and colour recognition.
The children also enjoyed completing dinosaur jigsaw puzzles and matching identical dinosaurs together, helping to develop their problem solving skills, memory, and early mathematical understanding.
One of our little ones showed wonderful imaginative thinking when he decided he wanted to “ride” a dinosaur and climbed onto Derek’s back for an adventure! Role play and imaginative play are fantastic for supporting communication and language development, creativity, and social skills.
Throughout the topic, we have enjoyed sharing dinosaur stories, singing songs, and, of course, lots of dancing. These activities help to promote listening and attention skills, language development, rhythm, coordination, and self-expression.
Our messy play tray was a huge hit! The children used tweezers and magnifying glasses to search for hidden dinosaurs buried in the “mud.” This encouraged curiosity, investigation, and early scientific thinking while also strengthening fine motor skills and introducing new vocabulary such as search, find, dig, and explore.
For our creative activities, the children used their fingerprints to complete patterns on dinosaur pictures and explored painting using a variety of colours. They thoroughly enjoyed getting a little messy while developing their creativity, fine motor control, pattern recognition, and mark making skills.
