Reiverdale Scout Group is one the largest groups in Ashington supporting and helping over 108 members.
Our Cub section needs additional adult help . Being at the beating heart of our programme, we need Team Members. If you’re passionate, practical, and proud to be inclusive, then being a Cubs Team Member is perfect for you.
Do you hear that? Those distant howls of laughter and yells of excitement? No, it’s not the sound of animals. It’s coming from your local Scouts meeting place. Want to join in the fun? Become a Cubs Team Member and help run our curious Cub Packs.

Thankyou to Rooftops North East for there amazing work and professionalism and helping us to keep a roof over our heads "litterly"

It is the job of the Trustees of a Scout Group to ensure a Group has safe and adequate facilities to enable to the sections to run. After extensive work appropriate funding was found to enable us to have our roof repaired after years of wear and tear and storm damage.

Rooftops North East came forward to help us with the challenge and repaired our roof for us. They was extremely honest, supportive, highly professional and listened to our needs.

As of Monday this week we can honestly say we have a tip top fit for purpose HQ.

We can't wait to welcome you for one of our biggest fundraising events of the year. Will we see you there?

Ashington's Civic Head, Cllr Caroline Ball, was delighted to attend Reiverdale Scout Group's awards ceremony on Wednesday 15 July 2026, celebrating the achievements of the Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scout sections.

The evening recognised the dedication and progress of young people across the group, who continue to be provided with through activities that deliver fun, friendship, excitement and adventure for the communities of South East Northumberland.

Reiverdale Scout Group has served the Ashington community since 1963, with its building used not only for Scouting but also for public art groups, mothering support groups, and previously as a COVID vaccination centre.

Ashington Town Council has also recently supported the Group with a grant enabling the replacement of its boiler, ensuring the building can continue to provide a safe, warm space for young people and the wider community throughout the colder months. The Group is now progressing plans to upgrade its fire alarm system following a recent health and safety review.

A spokesperson for Reiverdale Scout Group said: "Thank you for the ongoing support from Ashington Town Council for our Scout Group. It was massively appreciated. It was an honour to have Cllr Ball at the awards ceremony."

Ashington Town Council continues to support local voluntary and community organisations that provide vital opportunities for young people across the area.

Thankyou to Nicholson Heating Services for their amazing and professional service today. Our 30 year old boiler was replaced today with a shiny new one. Helping us to keep a warm safe space for all. Help us keep energy costs low enabling us to deliver more
