Last week, our Engagement Pathway welcomed parents and carers into school for a fun-filled sensory Stay & Play session.
There was lots of excitement and laughter as families explored the water and sand trays, got creative with painting activities, and enjoyed some quiet time relaxing with books together.

It was wonderful to see our learners sharing experiences with their families and engaging in a range of sensory activities. Thank you to all the parents and carers who joined us and helped make the session such a success!

Our VI Cookery Group recently celebrated with an Afternoon Tea, and what a success it was!

It was fantastic to welcome parents and carers to share in their children's achievements. The celebration included some fun awards, certificates and special wooden spoon keepsakes, kindly made with support from Duke's DT department.

A huge thank you to Jan Shinkfield and Rachael Walker (NCEA Duke's Secondary School) for their support to the group each week. Their help has been greatly appreciated and has played an important part in making the programme such a success.

We are incredibly proud of all of our young chefs and everything they have achieved this year!

We celebrated World Environment Day with a range of activities linked to the School Council’s ongoing focus on recycling and sustainability.

Classes had the opportunity to explore ways we can all help care for our environment, with many contributing to our ‘Promise to Our Planet’ project. These promises will come together to create a display, showcasing the small changes we can all make to have a positive impact on the world around us.

A big thank you to Katie and Oliver for their commitment to supporting the School Council and leading initiatives such as this.

♻️ Together, we can all play a part in protecting our planet for the future.

We are incredibly proud to share that one of our pupils, Lana, has recently appeared on the front cover of the PMLD Link Journal.

This is a very special moment for Lana, her family and everyone at Castle School. The PMLD Link Journal is a well-respected publication that celebrates and shares good practice, experiences and achievements relating to children and adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities.

We are delighted that she has had the opportunity to represent our school community in such a positive way!

Woo Hoo!
Our latest issue of PMLD Link is finally published - online and on your doormats.

This journal focuses on Sensory Engagement as a dedication to our long time friends and supporters, Richard Hirstwood and Flo Longhorn.

Four groups recently enjoyed an amazing residential trip to Daleby House, creating lots of special memories and enjoying new experiences together.

For some pupils, this was their very first night away from home – a huge achievement and something everyone should be incredibly proud of.

During the visit, pupils enjoyed beach games, a delicious fish and chip shop meal, crazy golf and lots of fun and laughter. We are so proud of all the pupils for embracing the experience and making the most of every moment!
