Little Acorns Pre-School

Little Acorns Pre-School Little Acorns is a pre-school based in Furley Park Primary Academy, Ashford. We cater for children between 2 years and 5 years of age.

We offer quality care and education in a welcoming environment with a happy atmosphere in which the children can develop their full potential. We have purpose build premises, including an outdoor play area, in order to provide a secure and stimulating learning environment. Opened in 1995, we are affiliated with the Pre-School Learning Alliance and operate as a Registered Charity, owned and run by the parents of the children who attend. We are regularly inspected by Ofsted and adhere to the National Standards for Day Care covering both the Early Years Education and Care of Pre-School children. We work within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidelines.

Highlights from the last couple of weeks-
🐿 We welcome Anne back from Musical Funtime - learning all about Autumn. 🍂 🎶🎼🎵
🐿️ Obstacle course in the garden-balancing along the beams, then going over obstacles at the end of the course and through the hoops.
The children also enjoyed dens made out of tables with material over the top.
🐿 Made a castle out of a cardboard box. The children glued and stuck a range of materials. The next day the children played with the castle with happyland figures. The children used their imagination and made up all kinds of stories. 🏰📦
🐿️ Matching the teddy bears to the correct coloured spot on the table. 🧸🔵🟢🟠🟡🟣🔴
🐿 Dressing up as a superhero and making superhero shields. 🦹‍♂️🦸‍♂️
🐿️ Using the weighing scales to weigh the different objects-discussing which is the heaviest and lightest. ⚖️
🐿 Lots of cutting to practice those fine motor skills✂️
🐿️ Gruffalo tuff tray- re telling the story of the Gruffalo. 📚🦉🐿️🐍🐭
🐿 We made our own tree house for our animals that live in a tree. 🌳🐿🦉
Wow.. lots of learning and fun we have all had. 🙂

Welcome back! Wow what a busy week!
🐿 The book of the term is ‘The Gruffalo’. We have done puzzles, made a Gruffalo and had a tuff tray; labelling the Gruffalo features and comparing them to ours. 📚🧩
🐿 In the home corner we are doing a teddy bear picnic theme. The children loved having teddies bear picnic on the floor in our home corner. For the board, the children have decorated triangles to use for bunting with stickers and felt tip pens. Then they have been painting forest pictures on the art easel. What amazing creations! 🧸🪾🧺🌳
🐿️ Outside we have been looking at pictures of castles and all the different features. Have you been to a castle? 🏰 We have been building castles with the soft blocks.

We had our Graduation Party for the school leavers yesterday 🎉🎊🏆2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣6️⃣
The children enjoyed a disco and then party food 🎉🎶🎵🥪🧁
Afterwards the parents came for a Graduation ceremony to celebrate the class of 2026 at Little Acorns Pre-School 🎉🐿️🎊. Each child received an award and then we mentioned what they wanted to be when they grow up.
All the best at school, we will miss you all! 🏫

🐿 Junk model- making all kinds of different creations. They made hats, bangles etc..
