Little Acorns is a pre-school based in Furley Park Primary Academy, Ashford. We cater for children between 2 years and 5 years of age.

We had our Graduation Party for the school leavers yesterday πππ2οΈβ£0οΈβ£2οΈβ£6οΈβ£
The children enjoyed a disco and then party food ππΆπ΅π₯ͺπ§
Afterwards the parents came for a Graduation ceremony to celebrate the class of 2026 at Little Acorns Pre-School ππΏοΈπ. Each child received an award and then we mentioned what they wanted to be when they grow up.
All the best at school, we will miss you all! π«

The best bits from this week-
πΏοΈ We set up a beauty salon where the children could pretend to paint their nails and have their hair done. The children absolutely loved this π¨π

πΏ Junk model- making all kinds of different creations. They made hats, bangles etc..

Weβre had lots of fun for our sports week.ππ₯π₯β½οΈβΉοΈπ
We have had lots of different races every day including-
πΏ Egg and spoon raceπ₯π₯
πΏοΈ Balancing bean bags on their heads
πΏ Over and under throwing with a football in a group of about 5 children β½οΈ
πΏοΈ Throwing balls into an umbrella βοΈ π΄π π‘π£π΅π’
πΏ Rolling hula hoops to our partner
πΏοΈ Jumping into the hoops to get to the finish line π
πΏ Throwing and catching in pairs. β½οΈ
The children were split into two groups when doing the races. They all did amazingly well! ππ«π
The have loved watching all the different races and cheering on their friends. Each child received a special sports day sticker at the end of their session.

The best bits over the last couple of weeks:
πΏοΈ The staff celebrated being at Furley Park School for nearly a year now with a cake at their staff meeting! Wow thatβs gone quickly πππ
πΏοΈ The children used the cars to follow the different patterns. π
πΏ Small world beach theme with water and sand tray. ποΈ
πΏοΈ Walking the plank like pirates, with water underneath. π΄ββ οΈ
πΏ Lots of water play including a car wash, different colour water and paddling. ππ§
πΏοΈ Finding our names, seeing whether we can find the letter in our names to go on the magnetic board and clapping out the syllables in our names. π€
πΏ We had a special visit from one of the Reception Class teachers, who came to read a few book to the children going to school. π«

Highlights from the week-
πΏ We have made special cards the last couple of weeks, for special people in the childrenβs lives. The older children drew a picture of their special person, themselves or their family too. The younger children did golf painting in a tray.
πΏοΈ We have had lots of water play including with oranges, lemons and herbs with tea pots and aswell as using our new water wall, that the children have loved. π¦πππ«
Our home corner is now getting the children ready for school.
π« We have got lots of different school uniforms for the children to dress up in.
π« A register sheet for mark making and writing their names, their friends and so the children can role play being teachers
π« Looking at the school logos and taking about what school they are going to? Also sharing books all about school.

πΏ Building with the wooden blocks with shaving foam and sand. π§±
πΏοΈ World Bee Day on Tuesday
πLoose part play and leaning about bees.
πMaking bees out of play dough with pipe cleaners and eyes. The children also loved making spiders. π·οΈ
π Making bee pictures with glue and tissue paper.
πΏ Lots of water play including a car wash, a range of different bottles for pouring and tipping. Also an underwater theme water play. ππππ§Ό ππ π«§ππ¦
πΏοΈ Junk modelling. The children have been busy making lots of different creations!
