Wildlife at the North School!

Our Natural History and Eco-club students monitor and record wildlife sightings on our school grounds. We have had reptile mats dotted around some quieter areas of our grounds for over a year now. We recorded an adult slow worm in the summer term and were pleased to go out this week and find another adult and a baby slow worm measuring just 10cm in different locations. This indicates that we have a healthy breeding population of slow worms at the school.

Fun fact: Slow worms look like snakes but are in fact a legless lizard. They are excellent at controlling pests like slugs and snails so we love having them near our allotment!

Picnic Benches - Thank You

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the new picnic benches provided by KEP (Kent Education Partnership) for our student communal area.

These benches have made an immediate difference, renewing the space into a welcoming outdoor area where students can socialise and study. We truly appreciate the support in improving our student environment and investing in the well-being of our community.

Dont forget - its tomorrow!!

On Monday 20th July, students at The North School will be taking part in our annual Race for Life event in support of Cancer Research UK.

Over the past two years, our school community has raised more than £3,000 for this incredibly important cause. We are hoping to continue that success this year and make a significant contribution once again.

Every donation, no matter how small, makes a real difference in supporting life-saving cancer research and helping to improve outcomes for those affected by cancer.

If you are able to contribute, donations can be made via our JustGiving page:
https://www.justgiving.com/page/thenorthschool-raceforlife2026

Thank you for your continued support for our students and this worthwhile cause. We look forward to a fantastic Race for Life event on 20th July and working together to make a positive impact.

Choosing the right secondary school is a huge milestone, and the best way to make that decision is to experience a school during a normal, bustling working day.

We are delighted to invite you to our Year 6 Open Mornings, running from Monday 22nd September to Friday 2nd October 2026. We will be running 2 tours each day at 9.20am and 10.45am. Each tour will last for approx 1 hour.

⭐A Personal Welcome: Your morning will begin in the Kent Hall with a short, insightful talk from our Headteacher.

⭐Small-Group Guided Tours: Afterwards, a member of our Senior Leadership Team will guide you around the school campus in a small group.

⭐See Live Lessons: You will step directly into classrooms to see our teachers and students at work, experiencing firsthand our purposeful, focused, and happy learning environment.

⭐Tailored to Your Interests: Our tours are not rigidly planned. Whether you want to focus on core academic departments or explore our specialist spaces, your guide will take you to the areas that matter most to you and your child.
