Cherrytree Nursery School Ltd. Newtown

We aim to provide the best care and education for your child by using qualified and experienced prac Cherrytree has two nurseries in Ashford, Kent.

Wainwright Place is housed in a former old Primary School built for the Ashford Railway Workers’ children in the early 1900’s. Due to growing demand for places at our Nursery, we opened a smaller branch in Kingsnorth Road in September 2003. We provide a bright, spacious and stimulating learning environment for the children in our care. At Cherrytree your child will thrive emotionally, physically and academically to their own potential. A foundation in good learning skills and work patterns will be laid, which will serve them well in the years ahead. We take children from 2 years old until they reach Primary School admission age and up to their 8th birthday in the school holidays.

We have drawn pictures of families, and we have joined in with home corner and vet roleplay. 👧🏻🧑🏽🐶🐱

Harvest Festival week - we have explored different vegetables looking at the smell and texture. We used the vegetables to print patterns with paint, and also make our own vegetable soup. We also created our own corn craft. 🌽🍎🥔

A polite reminder.. please could you return any spare nursery clothing that your child may have borrowed this term (they would be marked with CT on them).
We would also happily except any spare clothing donations.

We continue to look at our termly topic.. 'All about me'.

This week we have been learning about 'My body'.

We looked at ourselves in the mirror and drew our own self portraits. We completed the large skeleton together, and discussed how our bodies works and move.👶 🩻

Outside we had a wasp nest safely moved and the children looked at pictures of the nest to see how it was made and formed.

We come to the end of our fun-filled summer playscheme. We finished the week with two exciting days. ☀️

Tuesday - Jack and the Beanstalk 🫘🌱
We enjoyed reading the story of Jack and the Beanstalk and then created our own scences from the story through cutting and sticking.
We also designed our own golden eggs and planted our own magical beans to take home and watch grow.

Wednesday - Sensory Day 🍎🧊
We explored our senses by tasting a variety of different foods, including fruits and vegetables. We sang songs, and made music with the musical instruments.
We explored ice play and discovered hidden objects inside.
To finish the day we used our sensory light table, to create light and colours.

It has been a wonderful summer filled with fun, creavity and exploration.

We wish some of our children moving on to their new adventures at primary school, lots of happiness and success as they begin their exciting new chapter. 🎓🌟

We look forward to welcoming back our returning and new children for the start of the new term on Tuesday 1st September.

We hope everyone has a wonderful rest of the summer, and we can't wait to see you all soon! 🍒 🌈
