We continue to enjoy our summer playscheme...

Tuesday - Minibeasts Day 🐝🔍
Outside the children found natural objects and insects including a snail, a bumble bee and bugs using magnifying glasses.
The children made bumble bee craft and they also created their own show using various props.

Wednesday - Costume and Jewellery Design Day 👗👖👑
The children created their own bracelets using colourful beads. They made crowns and decorated them with feathers, stamps and gems, and they collaged and designed different outfits.

We’ve had another busy week of fun days at Playscheme!🌟

Tuesday - Camping day ⛺️
We made tents using blankets to set up their own camp areas. We crawled through tunnels using the torches to explore. We used our handprints to create pretend camp fires and we made maps and binoculars for our adventures.

Wednesday - Jungle day 🦁🐯
We had a great day exploring the different animals that we would find in the jungle. We made colourful parrots using feathers to collage. We completed a stick and cut jungle activity and we painted animals footprints.

We also have observed how tall our sunflowers have grown and we found a cricket in the garden. 🦗🌻

Tuesday – Transport Day 🚂🚤
We explored trains, paw patrol and used the car wheels dipped in paint to create colourful track patterns and art work.
We also had lots of fun playing with boats in blue foamy water.

Today – Farm Day 🐓🥚🚜
We planted seeds to create our own crops, and enjoyed decorating our pots. We also took part in an exciting egg drop challenge by creating a chicken coop run, and we played imaginatively with the farm animal set.

Tuesday – Circus Day 🎪
We practised our juggling skills using bean bags and hula hoops, designed our own colourful clown faces, and created fantastic popcorn pictures.

Today – Pirate Day 🏴‍☠️
Our pirate adventures started with blue jelly play, with the sea creatures. The children used their imaginations to create oyster shells and made wonderful coral reefs using playdough.

We've had a fantastic first day of our Summer Playscheme!

Today's theme was Disney Day!

We used spaghetti to create beautiful Rapunzel inspired hairstyles.
We explored a wonderful Moana sea themed tuff tray with seashells.
We also sang along to Disney songs and enjoyed lots of dancing together!

As we approach the end of the school year, I’d like to confirm that our last day is Tuesday, 21st July. 🍒

We will be open during this Summer holidays for our Playscheme from Wednesday 22nd July until Thursday 27th August.
At our Newtown Branch we will be open on Tuesday & Wednesdays and at the Kingsnorth Rd Branch we are open Monday & Thursdays. We will be closed on Fridays.
Playscheme is open to children from 2 years until their 8th birthday.

After a very warm week, we are continuing our topic 'Exploring the World'. 🗺️ 🌍

Over the past couple of weeks, we have discussed and taken part in a range of activities around different countries and continents, including Australia, Africa and Asia.

We have continued this week by learning through stories, music, food, and creative play.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend. If you're watching the football on Saturday, enjoy the match and come on, England! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 ⚽️

Due to the hot weather, we will be monitoring the children’s fluid intake closely. Please remembered to bring a water bottle, sun hat and apply suncream before for your child comes into nursery.
