This GCSE Results Day, Ashford School welcomed our Year 11 pupils back from their summer break to congratulate them on their examination success.

Headmaster Ashley Currie was present to celebrate with pupils and parents – “Staff have had a hugely enjoyable morning witnessing the joy of those receiving their GCSE results today, having shared the experience with our A Level students last week. Our Year 11 cohort have worked incredibly hard to achieve these well-deserved grades, and we look forward to welcoming those who are joining us for Sixth Form in September for the next stage of their Ashford School journey.”

We will gather in our new East Hill Gallery in Brooke Place for mulled wine and festive nibbles, enjoy student artwork and live music performed by current pupils. For those wishing to join us at the Carol Service, we’ll take a short, festive stroll up to St Mary’s Church in town for the traditional Nine Lessons & Carols Service with the whole school community.

We were sad to hear the news of Ashford School Former Director of Music, Mr Allan Clay, who passed away on 21st July 2026.

His family have kindly shared the funeral details with us so that alumni can attend should they wish.

Allan will be fondly remembered by many pupils and teachers for his lovable eccentricity. We invite you to share any stories, memories or tributes for Allan in the comments below.

We are sad to share the news of the recent passing of former Ashford School PE teacher, Anne Goodliffe. Many of our alumni who attended during the 1980s and beyond will fondly remember Anne’s passion for sports, choreography for shows and dedication. She remained an active part of our community for many years, as pictured here at the Summer Lunch a couple of years ago.

🌧️ EVENT CANCELLATION: The Ashford Ashes 🌧️

Due to the significant rainfall expected this weekend, we have sadly taken the decision to cancel all of our weekend cricket - including Sunday’s Ashford Ashes event.

With several weeks of the Summer term left to go, we need to protect our pitches to ensure they are in a fit state to host the remainder of our fixtures.

What happens next?
A huge thank you to everyone who signed up to play, spectate, or help behind the scenes. We really value your support and encouragement. We will provide further information in due course regarding plans for this event going forward.

It's remarkable to me that several months ago, a seed of an idea for an event has grown into a tangible piece of school history that I hope will be treasured by our community for many years to come.
