A visit from Flora the Singleton Giant capped off a vibrant and enriching Culture Week at Chilmington Green Primary School in Ashford, where pupils explored traditions, languages, food and art from around the world. From flamenco dancing and African drumming to virtual international exchanges and creative artwork, it was a week full of curiosity, creativity and celebration.

Take a look at Tiny Town!

Tiny Town is our brand‑new specialist role‑play intervention room, purpose‑designed to support children in the Early years and those who need additional help with early speech, language and social development.

Tiny Town is an immersive role‑play experience, intentionally very different from a classroom. The curriculum for this room has been designed around speech, language, social interaction, independence, and personal skills, and it’s been very carefully constructed.

Children move between different rooms and take on different personas with carefully selected clothing to help develop fine motor skills and independence by putting clothes on, taking them off, and managing fastenings. Each area has a clipboard with prompts from our speech and language experts to guide staff in supporting communication.

Tiny Town has a shopping centre, doctor’s surgery, a vets, and a home corner where children can take on family roles, practise sharing, and develop social skills.

There’s even a stage for puppet shows and a construction zone for children who love building.

It’s a fun, low‑threat space where children don’t feel like they’re in school – they simply feel like they’re playing. What they are doing is strengthening the prime areas of learning through these experiences and are building the foundations needed for success in the mainstream classroom.
