Remembering VJ Day

Today we remember VJ Day (Victory over Japan Day), which took place on 15th August 1945 and marked the end of the Second World War.

After many years of fighting, people across the world celebrated the return of peace and looked forward to brighter days ahead. We also take time to remember the bravery and sacrifice of the soldiers, sailors, aircrew, and the many families whose lives were changed by the war.

As we learn about the past, we can think about the importance of kindness, friendship, and working together to build a peaceful future.

Lest we forget. 🥀
