𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲!
We were delighted to welcome Kent Road Safety and Active Travel to lead engaging assemblies for our EYFS, KS1 and KS2 pupils.

Children learned simple but important ways to stay safe, including stopping, looking and listening carefully before crossing roads, and always using crossings where possible. They explored how to be seen by wearing bright colours, and discussed why this matters even more now that some cars, like electric vehicles, are much quieter and harder to hear.

A key message for all was staying focused near roads. Pupils talked about why it is important not to be distracted by phones or other technology, and to keep their eyes and ears alert at all times.

Thank you to Kent Road Safety and Active Travel for helping our children become safer and more confident road users.

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀
Year 5 have been exploring The Arrival, a powerful wordless story about a man who leaves his family behind to seek a better life in an unfamiliar world. Through its striking images, pupils followed his journey as he navigates a strange city, new customs and the challenges of starting again with nothing.

Inspired by the book, pupils wrote their own letters and postcards home, now displayed across the classroom as a beautiful interactive feature. Some also shared their own journeys to the UK, making the learning even more meaningful.
With no words to guide us, every story was unique. Each pupil brought their own imagination to life, creating thoughtful and personal interpretations of the migrant experience.

𝗕𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻’𝘀 𝗚𝗼𝘁 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁… 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗼 𝗗𝗼 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝘂𝗽𝗶𝗹𝘀!
We were truly honoured to welcome Sonny Greene, of Britain’s Got Talent fame, to the Academy last week for our Middle School Celebration Evening.

With his incredible way with words, Sonny delivered a powerful and inspiring speech to our Middle School award winners and their guests, leaving a lasting impression on everyone in attendance. His messages of 'belonging' and 'being united' perfectly reflected our Academy and the achievements we were celebrating.

To mark the occasion and recognise the impact of his visit, we were proud to present an award in Sonny’s name.

Thank you, Sonny, for putting emotions into words, sharing your story, and inspiring the next generation of pupils to dream big and believe in themselves.
