Billy Class had a brilliant morning visiting Ashford Library. They travelled on the school minibus for the first time, discovered where the children’s books were located, collected their library cards & checked out their books using the machines. The children were beautifully behaved & were very excited to borrow books! 📚

This week is our Harvest Celebration! We are collecting non-perishable items (eg tins, packets) for local charities Bright City Church food bank and Vinnie's Diner. If you would like to contribute, just send into school with your child. All donations gratefully received.

Pygmy class (Year 6) had a great time visiting the library today. They found out how the books are organised and how to find specific information books, as well as getting engrossed in some reading. Some of them even took out a book using their library cards!

Alpine Class enjoyed exploring Ashford town today. They spotted lots of features including the Ashford Tank, St Mary's Church and the Bandstand. One group even got to see lots of police officers during their fire drill- very thrilling! Photos coming soon.

Our newest members of Goat Lees have been very busy this week. Billy Class have been making new friends, learning lots through play and also new routines. They have already met their year 6 buddies and quickly becoming part of the school. We’ve enjoyed getting to know you!

Our humanities ambassadors had a fabulous day The Retreat Animal Rescue Farm Sanctuary and Cafe. Thank you so much for welcoming us! We were welcomed by two very friendly roosters - they literally ran towards us! We then had a tour and saw so many rescued animals - we loved how the pigs ran around the field in excitement! We planted our own acorn, used salt dough to make model with things we found, made badges and also learned many facts about trees! We then started to think about our own nature pledge - our next step is to lead an assembly for the rest of the school to involve everyone. The children were engaged and creative - they really were great ambassadors for our school.

We had an awe inspiring visitor into school today - Courtney Tulloch! It started with a whole school assembly when he talked to us about how he became a gymnast to how hard he trains, and how he has to look after his body. He then completely wowed us with some gymnastic skills including cartwheels and back flips over 3 members of staff! The children could barely contain themselves! Each class then had a skills session with him and they were able to ask questions as well as holding his medals. Thank you to ‘Sports for champions’ and Mrs Pilbeam for organising it - we really were inspired!
