Today is World Mental Health Day.
Everyone has 'mental health', like we all have physical health.
As you would if you had physical pain, please do not ignore the signs of poor mental health and seek help when you need it.
If anyone needs help; please reach out to your school, work, GP or local support services. We have included some online services to keep in mind here:
- 'EKC Online' is the online learning platform for all of our students across EKC Colleges, Training Centres and Business Units, which includes Wellbeing advice, your college wellbeing contacts and links to local support services.
- The NHS Website section on Mental Health: https://www.nhs.uk/mental-health/ This provides information on understanding your own mental health, coping strategies and support services.
- ConnectWell: https://www.connectwelleastkent.org.uk/ A Social Prescribing platform managed by Social Enterprise Kent for the East Kent area. You can use this tool to search voluntary and community groups and other non-clinical services, in your local area; including support groups, and group activities to help you feel more involved in the community, meet new people and improve health and wellbeing.
Please also be mindful that people around you may be struggling with their mental health, especially at this time of year.
Be kind to yourselves and one another.
