Established in 1992 the School of Sewing is the premier sewing school in the UK attracting students from all over the UK, Europe and the USA. Alison Smith MBE is the Principal of the School of Sewing based in Ashby de la Zouch in Leicestershire at the heart of the National Forest, the motorway network and close to East Midlands airport. Alison offers short one day, two day, three day and some long

er workshops on all aspects of dressmaking, tailoring, couture, lingerie and corsetry. City & Guilds qualifications Level 2 are also available. Alison also teaches workshops on Craftsy, so if you cannot make a class, why not buy a class to watch at home or buy one of Alison's best selling books The Sewing Book or Dressmaking. In 2013, Alison was awarded an MBE ‘for services to Sewing and Corsetry and the community of North West Leicestershire’ by HM The Queen. A busy busy day in London ! The Schiaparelli exhibition is beautiful. Some wonderful embroidery and beadwork Lots of pockets too ! Quick visit to the Goldhawk Rd but I only bought one bit of fabric and then to Liberty. They have expanded the fabric floor ! All too tempting. Time to go home now. What did you do today ?
