👏 POV you’re volunteering for charity 👏

Today our sixth formers helped out at Charity fundraiser walk for their KS3 students.

Their main job was to encourage all the students to get to 15 laps! 🎉👏

This week our Engineering students marked National Manufacturing Day by getting hands-on in the workplace, during a visit to Acres Engineering 👷👷‍♀️

They helped to make and assemble trestles in timed conditions, learned about engineering roles in the forces, and toured the factory where they witnessed processes such as laser cutting, pressing, welding and powder coating 🧰 ✏️

We are excited to be working alongside schools across our trust and LiFE Inclusion & Safeguarding for our It’s Not Ok campaign. This half term, our Safeguarding focus is on Sexual Harassment and Abuse in Schools. More information can be found in our recent letter to parents and please look out for further updates.

Ashby's campus has so much history that it's being used as architectural inspiration by Sixth Form art students 🎨

As part of their 'urban environment' module, Year 12 students have been sketching parts of the school buildings, some of which date back to 1567 🏫

Students used pencil, biro or fine line pens to capture architectural details around the school. These drawings will be used as the basis for students' urban environment project work and will later be turned into prints 🖼️

Art teacher Sally Kesterton said: "Students used some of the beautiful parts of our historic campus as inspiration for their project work by sketching the architectural details.

"We are really very lucky to be able to teach and learn in such a lovely and historic setting.”
