The year 3/4 girls played brilliantly in the recent McDermott Shield competition. Our two games were against All Saints School and Woodstone School. Excellent matches against super teams... with everyone demonstrating fabulous skills on the pitch. We are now looking forward to the next round. Thank you to everyone involved.

What a fantastic day we had on our trip to Stonehurst Farm! The children were full of excitement from the moment we climbed onto the bus, ready for our adventure. At the farm, they loved exploring the trail, climbing and balancing along the way, then enjoyed lots of energetic play in the park and on the hay bales. There were some very special moments cuddling guinea pigs, stroking baby lambs and feeding cows and sheep. The visit gave the children wonderful hands-on experiences, building confidence, curiosity and a deeper understanding of farm life. A joyful day full of smiles, laughter and learning!

Before we broke up for Easter, our Year 4 children had a wonderful visit to St Helen’s Church, where they explored the meaning of the Easter story. Throughout the morning, they took part in a range of creative activities, including making an Easter garden, colouring beautiful pictures to be displayed in the church, and drawing their own Easter-themed artwork. A highlight was when some of the children confidently led the entire year group in a song, filling the church with joyful sound. It was a fantastic experience that brought learning to life.

A group of Year 5 students had the opportunity to take part in orienteering. The children had a go at reading a test map - orientating themselves using the buildings, trees and symbols on the maps. Once they felt confident, they were off with 30 minutes on the clock! They gathered 10 points for each station they successfully reached and logged with their dibber.

Another brilliant event hosted by the Sports Partnership. The children displayed exemplary behaviour, great teamwork and excellent map-reading skills. Great fun was had by all!

KS2 had an assembly about the author Matty Long, who writes the 'Croaky' books and the 'Super Happy Magic Forest' series. We listened to a couple of videos, which explained where he gathers his inspiration to write his books from and his fascination with frogs. Afterwards, we turned our focus to the main character, 'Croaky' and Matty Long took everyone through a step-by-step guide on how to create their own version of this character. The children thoroughly enjoyed it and learnt how to get ideas for their own writing.
