A fantastic afternoon at our Year 5 & 6 Dartmoor 3 Ball Tournament after school yesterday!

With six teams taking part in our famous and much-loved partnership striking and fielding game, every match was played with fantastic enthusiasm, teamwork, determination and skill. It was wonderful to see so many pupils enjoying the competition in such a positive and supportive atmosphere.

Congratulations to Bradley Barton, our overall tournament winners, closely followed by Chudleigh A team🏆

A huge thank you to our amazing Year 9 SDCC Sports Leaders, who generously volunteered their time to officiate the games so professionally and enthusiastically. Your support helped make the event such a success.

Finally, thank you to all the staff and parents who gave their time to support the tournament and provide this fantastic opportunity for our children. Your encouragement and commitment are greatly appreciated.

Our Inspire Day 2 yesterday was a fantastic success, despite the incredibly hot weather. Thankfully, we were able to enjoy the natural shade and cooling breeze of the forest, which made for a perfect outdoor setting.
During the morning, pupils from across the sport partnership had the opportunity to get to know one another through a range of games and activities around the play equipment and beneath the trees. It was great to see new friendships forming so quickly.
The group then took on the High Ropes course and zip wire at Go Ape, Haldon Forest. This was a real highlight of the day, with pupils showing tremendous bravery as they faced their fears and pushed beyond their comfort zones. They demonstrated excellent resilience, as well as developing key skills such as communication and trust while supporting one another. The zip wire was a particular thrill, with its impressive height and speed adding to the excitement.
After lunch, we headed out on a discovery walk through the forest, collecting natural items along the way such as pine cones, leaves, and stones. Working in mixed-school groups, pupils were then challenged to create a piece of art using their collected materials. The teamwork on display was fantastic, and the creativity shown resulted in some truly impressive and imaginative art pieces, which we later judged together.
A really inspiring and memorable day for everyone involved. Thanks to all the schools for sending their pupils on to this opportunity.

What a fantastic afternoon at our ADSSP Year 3 & 4 Dartmoor3Ball Friendly Tournament! 🌦️🏐

Despite some tricky drizzle conditions, all pupils showed brilliant teamwork, determination and skill throughout the rotation of matches. It was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the opportunity to play and celebrate our very own created game of Dartmoor3Ball!

A huge thank you to the SDCC Year 9 Sports Leaders, who were outstanding in their officiating, encouragement and support of all the teams throughout the event.

Congratulations to our overall winners, Chudleigh A Team! 🏆👏

What a brilliant afternoon at the Year 5 & 6 Dartmoor 3 Ball Friendly Tournament for the Exmouth Learning Community! 🌟

Fantastic teamwork, impressive skills on display, and a real buzz of excitement and sportsmanship throughout the event. A huge well done to all the players who represented their schools so brilliantly.

Special thanks to the ECC Sport Leaders who were outstanding officials, and to our hosts, ECC, for a fantastic event. Thank you also to everyone who came along to support.

ELC Year 3 & 4 Dartmoor3Ball Tournament

Our ELC Year 3 and 4 pupils enjoyed a fantastic afternoon of Dartmoor3Ball competition, showcasing excellent skill, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

The matches were closely contested, with every team demonstrating great teamwork, communication, and resilience. Pupils played with enthusiasm and energy from start to finish, producing some exciting moments and impressive performances across all games.

A huge well done to all of the children who took part. Their positive attitudes and support for one another helped create a brilliant atmosphere throughout the event.

Congratulations to Brixington Primary School, who were crowned the overall tournament winners after a series of excellent performances throughout the afternoon.

We would also like to thank the ECC Sports Leaders, who did an outstanding job officiating the tournament. Their confidence, organisation, and professionalism ensured that all matches ran smoothly and fairly.

Well done to everyone involved for making the event such a success. It was wonderful to see such high levels of participation, teamwork, skill, and enjoyment on display all afternoon. A fantastic sporting event and a credit to all of the pupils, staff, and sports leaders who took part.

A total of 170 pupils attended the Year 4 Striking & Fielding Festival held at Newton Abbot College today. Pupils from Bradley Barton, Wolborough, St Josephs, Canada Hill, Haytor View and Denbury participated in a carousel of activities where they were taught some striking & fielding skills. The stations were led by sports leaders and included; throwing & catching, rolling & retrieving, bowling to and batting. Once the carousel was completed, the pupils put their new skills into games of Rapid Fire. Thank you to all staff for bringing their pupils and to the brilliant sports leaders.

What an EPIC morning at our KS2 Cross Country event!

Across four races — Year 3/4 girls & boys and Year 5/6 girls & boys — plus a fantastic Fun Run to finish, an incredible 344 pupils from 10 of our partnership schools took part!

Despite the summer rain showers, the atmosphere was amazing, with brilliant parent support and pupils showing fantastic resilience, determination and encouragement for one another throughout the morning. We are so proud of every single participant for giving their best effort.

A huge thank you to the staff and students at Stover School for being outstanding hosts — supporting with car parking, course marshalling and setting out the course. We truly couldn’t do it without you!

Thank you also to all school staff for organising pupils and families to access such a wonderful opportunity.

Events like this remind us just how powerful school sport can be!

A fantastic afternoon at the rearranged ELC Year 5 & 6 Boys Football Tournament! ⚽👏

Six teams were able to attend the new date and what a tournament it turned out to be. The boys showcased excellent skill, teamwork and sportsmanship throughout, with every game closely contested in a competitive round robin format.

A huge well done to all of the players for the effort, attitude and determination they showed across the afternoon. Congratulations to eventual winners Withycombe Raleigh! 🏆

The tournament was brilliantly officiated by the ECC Sports Leaders, who did a terrific job all afternoon, and it was fantastic to see such strong parental support creating such a positive atmosphere around the pitches.

Thank you to all of the schools for organising teams to attend, and a special thanks to ECC for providing the leaders and excellent facilities to make the event possible.

Pupils from nine primary schools across the Exmouth Learning Community came together for an exciting KS2 Sports Festival, designed to engage targeted pupils in a variety of fun, summer-themed activities. The event provided a fantastic opportunity for children to build confidence, develop key physical skills, and collaborate with peers from different schools.

Throughout the day, pupils took part in a wide range of activities, including javelin throw, long jump, and high jump technique challenges. They also enjoyed striking and fielding games such as Fireball and Beat the Ball, alongside relay sprint races featuring hurdles. Each station encouraged teamwork, resilience, and skill development in an inclusive and supportive environment.

The festival was brilliantly led by the dedicated ECC sport leaders, whose enthusiasm and encouragement ensured every pupil felt involved and successful. It was clear that all participants had a wonderful time, embracing new challenges and celebrating their achievements.

A huge thank you goes to everyone who helped make this event possible. We hope the children take pride in what they have learned and continue to build on their skills, staying active and enjoying summer sports both in and out of school.

Last Friday afternoon, pupils took part in our KS2 Nurture Alternative Sports Festival — an exciting and inclusive event packed with new experiences. Throughout the afternoon, pupils had the opportunity to try a wide range of activities including trampolining, table tennis, pickleball, archery, badminton, basketball and Boccia. Every mini session was expertly led and supported by the fantastic Year 9 SDCC Sports Leaders, who showed great enthusiasm, encouragement and leadership throughout the event.
The festival created a truly positive and inclusive atmosphere, giving pupils the chance to step outside their comfort zones, develop confidence and resilience, and discover sports they may never have tried before. Staff were delighted to see so many pupils fully engaged, joining in enthusiastically and enjoying themselves alongside their peers.
A huge thank you also goes to Charlotte Avery-Wright (PE teacher at SDCC) for kindly giving up her free lesson to run the trampolining session — it was a real highlight of the afternoon!
