What a lovely week we've had at preschool!

This week we have been exploring Our Lovely World through sea creatures and slimy seaweed spaghetti. The children have also enjoyed investigating our nature minibeast tray and creating beautiful nature collages using natural materials.

For snack, we made delicious ice cream and fruit waffles, with the children showing great independence by squeezing the ice cream scoop themselves.

Outside, we have had a fantastic time exploring our new waterfall play table and investigating how the water flows.

We hope you all have a lovely warm weekend.

As the World Cup kicked off this week, we decided to make our focus on sport and healthy eating, and the children have had an amazing time taking part in a variety of activities!

The children enjoyed creating colourful flags to wave, designing their own football shirts, and using their imagination to build fantastic stadiums. In cookery, we made some delicious energy bars using honey and oats, and the children helped to mash the bananas before mixing everything together.

We have also been keeping active with plenty of sporting fun. The children challenged themselves on our assault course, showing determination, balance, and confidence as they completed each obstacle. They also took part in running races on the front playground, cheering each other on and celebrating everyone's achievements.
To finish our exciting week, all of the children received a 'Sports Star Certificate' in recognition of their fantastic effort, enthusiasm, and participation. They were incredibly proud of their achievements and enjoyed being applauded and celebrated by their friends.

It has been wonderful to see the children developing their creativity, teamwork, confidence, and physical skills while learning about this exciting sporting event.
Well done, everyone!

This week at preschool, we celebrated National Dinosaur Day with lots of dinosaur-themed fun!

The children enjoyed making their own dinosaurs out of play dough and got creative during cooking by making delicious cheesy dinosaur claws. We sang dinosaur songs, read lots of dinosaur stories, and even had a fantastic dinosaur stomp dance!

We also continued to make the most of our outdoor play. Our new messy table has been a huge hit, with plenty of messy mixing fun, water play, and potion-making adventures.

Next week, with the start of the World Cup, we'll be celebrating all things sport and looking forward to lots of exciting activities.
Have a lovely weekend everyone! 😊

This week at preschool we have been learning all about keeping safe.

The children explored different ways to stay safe, from staying safe in the sun and crossing the road carefully, to learning about “safe adults” and why we should never go anywhere without our grown-ups knowing. We watched an age-appropriate video about staying safe and followed this up with puppet role play and discussions together. Our small world play included lots of road safety activities, cars and crossings, and emergency services role play with police, fire and ambulance teams.

We also enjoyed a walk around the village where we talked about road safety and practised how to stop, look and listen before crossing roads.

At snack time, the children used knives to chop their own fruit after discussing how to use them safely and carefully.

As the well dressings are on this week, we spent time exploring Forest School and collecting natural materials to create our own nature faces.

We hope you all have a lovely sunny Bank Holiday weekend and we look forward to seeing you all again after the break.

This week at preschool, we have been learning all about “People Who Help Us” following National Nurses Day.

The children have enjoyed lots of exciting activities linked to the theme, including exploring our fire station and police station role play areas, lifeboat water play, an airport setup, and even our very own salon! Some of the adults were very lucky to have their hair styled by the children!

For cookery this week, we made a delicious oaty blueberry traybake. As we focused on developing our physical skills, the children practised using knives safely and independently to cut their own slices.

Have a lovely weekend, and we look forward to seeing you all next week!

As it was National Space Day over the weekend, we decided to make space our topic this week at preschool.

The children have really enjoyed looking at books and having lots of conversations about planets, the sun, spaceships and astronauts. We have been very busy creating lovely swirly galaxy paintings, building rockets and making some fantastic space-themed crafts.

We also baked some delicious space rock cakes for the children to take home, which they were very excited about!

It has been a lovely week full of creativity, imagination and learning, and the children have thoroughly enjoyed exploring all things space.
We hope you have a lovely weekend 🙂

This week at preschool we’ve been exploring British Values through our PSED learning.

The children really enjoyed turn-taking games and working together, building their confidence and friendships along the way.

At snack time, they chose their own fruit and made a delicious fruit salad, showing great independence with their cutting skills.

We also had a democratic vote for story time. Each child used a token to vote for their favourite book – a great way to learn about making choices and respecting others.

A lovely week all round.
We'll see you next week, have a lovely long weekend.

This week at preschool, we’ve been celebrating Earth Day.
The children have been learning all about animal habitats. They explored our ocean-themed tuff tray, enjoyed sharing a rainforest story, and got creative during cooking by making their own animal biscuits. We also marked St. George’s Day with crafts.

We made the most of the lovely sunny weather during Forest School. The children had a wonderful time exploring and investigating nature—looking for worms, ladybirds, and spiders, and even making their own dandelion soup.

It’s been a fun and engaging week full of discovery and learning about the world around us.
We hope you all have a lovely weekend and enjoy the sunshine.

This week at preschool we have been exploring the theme of “Things That Move”.

Our learning extended beyond vehicles to include the movement of water and different ways we can move our bodies, such as running, jumping and climbing. The children enjoyed being active and exploring movement in a variety of ways.

The children showed a particular interest in rescue vehicles, which led to an impromptu discussion and a chance to watch videos to learn more about the important roles they play. In cookery, we made cheesy pizza wheels, which the children thoroughly enjoyed.

We also observed some lovely child-led learning as the children created their own game, rolling different objects down a hilly track to see how far they would go, testing out their ideas and making simple predictions.

Have a lovely weekend, and we look forward to seeing you next week.

We’ve had such a lovely Easter Fun Week at preschool. The children have really enjoyed the spring playdough and getting stuck into lots of Easter crafts.

We also had a very special visit from a lamb, kindly brought in by one of our parents. The children loved meeting her and those who wanted to were able to give her a gentle stroke. They chose the perfect spring name for her – “Daffodil.”

On Thursday, we went to our Easter service at church followed by our Easter breakfast. Our bunnies, chicks, currant buns and customers did us proud, and we are so proud of them all.

Wishing all our families a very Happy Easter. We look forward to seeing you after the holidays.
