🌟 Ilam 3 Peaks 13th September – Can You Lend a Hand? 🌟

Hi everyone! We’re getting ready for the Ilam 3 Peaks event and really need helpers on the day along with food / drink donations to keep everyone going. This is a great fundraising opportunity for the Ilam School Association, with up to 250 entrants in the race.

🕐 Volunteer slots:

7–9 am – Setup crew

9–11 am – Pre‑race drinks & snack serving

11 am–2 pm – Post‑race drinks & snacks serving

2–3 pm – Clean-up crew

🍰 Food & drink donations:
Tea / Coffee / Milk / Sugar • Water / Fizzy Drinks • Snacks / Crisps • Pizza • Sausage Rolls • Cheese Scones • Sandwiches • Cakes / Traybakes

🚶‍♀️Year 6 Bunster Walk 2026🚶‍♂️

Last Thursday our Year 6s took on the annual walk up Bunster, a tradition that means so much to all of us.

Miss Compton led the way up Bunster, down into Dovedale, across the Stepping Stones, and back to school. It was a beautiful 8km walk, taking in the stunning beauty of our local area.

And of course, a moment that the children love… reaching the very top of Bunster, waving down and shouting “Goodbye Ilam!” to the children and staff in the playground below. It never fails to give us goosebumps, and makes us quite emotional too!

This walk is more than just a tradition. It’s a rite of passage. A chance for our Year 6s to be together, to look out over the valley they’ve grown up in, and to know how proud of them we all are.

To our incredible Year 6s, as you get ready to move on to secondary school, we just want to say how much you will be missed. You’ve filled our school with kindness, laughter, and so much heart. Remember, you’ll always have a home here at Ilam.

☀️🌳Glass Art Unveiling and Exhibition! 🌳☀️

Today we unveiled our incredible glass art installation in collaboration with the amazing artist Stevie Davies - Contemporary Fused Glass, and organised by Mrs Greenwood.

Just look at the children’s faces in the photos — they say a thousand words. The joy, the pride, the wonder. This beautiful window will bring us happiness for years to come and stands as a lasting legacy for our school.

We also welcomed families in to view our art gallery of glass art pieces. Every single piece was absolutely stunning and a true reflection of our children’s creativity and hard work.

Special thanks to the Ilam School Association - ISA for funding this project and making it possible. Please continue to support future ISA fundraising opportunities. It’s thanks to you that we can keep providing such quality enrichment to our curriculum.

Due to the fragile nature of the pieces, all glass art will be sent home on Monday directly by teachers to parents/carers at home time.

🏆⭐️ We are very excited to announce that we have achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award for the 2025/26 academic year - our 3rd year running! ⭐️🏆

The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition and sport across their school.

🤩 Thanks to all the parents, pupils and staff for supporting our constant effort to improve school sport and help the children to lead healthy, active lives! 🤩

Every summer the Year 6 children can choose a post-SATS treat, this year they asked for a water fight! We spent all afternoon soaking each other and were absolutely DRENCHED by the end (Miss Rouse included). What a fun afternoon!
